I know it isn't the game of choice for everyone; but I am a major fan of the Harvest moon and Rune Factory (May they be resurrected) Games. Moreover I'm also a huge fan of Kickstarter and crowd funding under served niches.

Which brings me to "Wild Season" (seen here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sbalani/wild-season-inspired-by-harvest-moon?ref=category ) a game 'inspired' by the Harvest moon franchise, which promises more options and more complex relationship systems.

Personally I think it might be interesting and nice to have another game for my particular niche; but what do you think? inspired idea or cheap knock off?

A kickstarter Dev with a lot to show and not asking for an insane amount to get funded? Ya why not.

I'm a fan of both Harvest moon and the now dead rune factory >.< and it's not exactly an hard complex to follow, so I'm not really going to call blasphemy when a game is usually the similar life sim make money farming concept. All and all HM and RF do pretty much come to an end after a while, so it's not like there isn't room for another one these types of games.

I'll probably fund to the beta goal next week payday if it looks like it's going to make it.

I wonder if you can actually be a homosexual in that game now, always seemed to odd to me that you couldn't.

Huh. While it defiantly looks like a harvest moon clone, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's bad. Some great games started as clones.

That said, they look like they are pretty far along actually (well they have art assets at least), and its a well laid out kickstarter page that isn't asking for an unreasonable amount. Don't have the money to fund, but I voted it up on Greenlight. Might be good.

Well it's been quite a few years since I last played a Harvest Moon game and While I do enjoy Animal Crossing New leaf, I feel I need a new game to mix things up so this looks right down my alley.

Ooh, more complex relationships? Color me interested.

I kind of hope this means you can do more with your spouse, other than the usual "talk, give, make them do chores, have special scenes on certain days, have child." Because that's all it usually turns into. Come on, they're married. Why can't my character hug or kiss them!?

I only know this one because it's by the same company as Starbound, which I'm beta testing rather incessantly... so I see the Stardew Valley section of their forums hanging out at the bottom of my screen pretty often.

Looks like Wild Season is more for the anime fan, Stardew Valley is more for the 16-bit retro style fan... also, co-op multiplayer.

I love Harvest Moon and even though I've only just started playing Rune Factory I've been enjoying that too, so I may go ahead and throw in my support for this title. It looks pretty good.

I just hope that there is a good variety of bachelorettes because my biggest complaint with RF4 so far is that it seems like you can only marry the girls, all of the actual women like the nurse, hot springs owner, and detective are all unavailable.

I'm a little confused as to why you chose the word "resurrected". In the past three years there have been three releases for the series...

2013: http://therunefactory.wikia.com/wiki/Rune_Factory_4
2012: http://harvestmoon.wikia.com/wiki/Harvest_Moon_3DS:_A_New_Beginning
2011: http://harvestmoon.wikia.com/wiki/Harvest_Moon:_The_Tale_of_Two_Towns

All of these got English localized releases. If you have a 3DS the series is far from needing resurrection.

As for knockoffs... Shepherd's Crossing [http://shepherdscrossing.wikia.com/wiki/Shepherd%27s_Crossing_Wiki] comes to mind. It also came out on PSP [http://www.amazon.com/Shepherds-Crossing-Sony-PSP/dp/B002P8KOM4].

Rune Factory dev recently closed its doors, hence the resurrected.

After looking into it the whole game looks like it's being made with one of the RPG Maker engines. Hell, I could make it if I had a few months spare... *looks around* well I do have a few months spare but not the point!

Ah, but Marvelous AQL owns the Rune Factory franchise, not Neverland. Nothing's to stop Marvelous AQL from having a different developer make a new game in the series. We've all seen this happen with other franchises before. Also, I saw nothing in Wild Season that suggests it has combat, so it's hardly a Rune Factory substitute anyway?

This actually looks pretty cool - I loved Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town for the GBA. I'll give them a few quid.

Why do I feel like same sex relationships have degenerated into boxart bullet points. I don't remember a recent RPG Kickstarter that didn't have one.

OH! Cool!
I always keep a link to some of the game that I am "Watching" develop over time as Stardew Vally is right up there. Beta testing huh? Please tell me it's as good as it looks.

I'd love to play this game on PS Vita.

I'll back this if they'll reach their initial goal and dish out more info on Vita version.

Thanks for the heads-up OP.
