The one on PS2 was the worst IMO. The timer ran when you were inside and it took forever to get around the map, oh and don't get me started on the lighting. I wouldn't recommend starting with it. Pity as I thought the characters were nice.
Back to Nature on PSOne was great, prob one of the most familiar to the original SNES version (which I loved).
Tree of Tranquility on Wii was quite enjoyable as well, it was pretty and I liked the characters, different but not so different that it lacks (does that even make sense) Oh and Magical Melody had a nice extra level of toughness, which required finding bells and things to gain friendship and get better farming shizz.
More Friends of Mineral Town on GBA was great too. I've played them all I love them so much. No matter how unchanging the designs are, I still have to at least try them.
Check out Rune Factory as well, it's along the same lines but you fight as well (maybe skip the first and play 2 or 3 because marrying someone seemed impossible to me without any friends lol) I also believe it came out on the PS3 recently... one of them.
Overall Back to Nature on PSOne is the one I would recommend if you don't mind old graphics, otherwise probably Tree of Tranquility on Wii. I haven't played Two Towns on 3DS so I can't comment on that.
