Only once if I recall. At least part of Splinter Cell Conviction is played in Valletta, Malta. It's surprising enough they picked out my country, they went with my city too.

Yes, in fact, a whole series of games are set here in Silent Hill. Town is pictured perfectly; ashes and all.

Kinda. It would be Left 4 Dead (original). You know that Death Toll takes place in Riverside, Pennsylvania, right. But it is actually modeled on the city of Riverside, California, which is where I live. The graveyard and church were taken directly from my town.

You know that mission in MW2, "Wolverines!" well I have this legal documentation right here
From the Call of Duty wiki *clears throat*

"While the mission, presumably for sensitivity reasons, takes place in a non-specific area of "Northeastern Virginia," evidence in the game files and the layout of the streets, architecture of the houses, and generalized restaurants based on real restaurants suggests that this level takes place in Sterling, Virginia in Loudoun County"

Yeah. man thats my hood right there, I still hold on to the belief that a fan from my town wrote that because while the shopping center seemed familliar it was pretty generic it could've been anywhere my friend says its in Arlington who knows, but enough about my fanboyism towards that non-descript suburb I inhabit, have you ever seen a game level or a game that in its entirity is set in an area, city, town, etc. that you live in, hell I'll even take countries just so more people can respond

And I'm sorry for mentionning MW2 I know your sick of it, but my town is really really obscure especially in an international community so thats the only game I know.
Can you tell me the exact address? I'd love to see that place in Google Street View. I found Sterling in Google Earth, but couldn't pinpoint the exact location.
The towns in Northern Virginia the shopping center I don't know we have one of those about every three miles, and its in a county called Loudoun which is kind of shaped like the state of Maine and the very top of Virginia bordering Maryland, Google Earth will probaly take you to Leesburg since Sterling is an unincorparated town but if you see Leesburg you're going in the right direction

In 'Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds' for the PC, you could fight over most major cities of England, including Liverpool (where I live), but since the game is set circa 1898 I couldn't really tell you how authentic it was, although it looked like a pretty generic city to me - they did get the basic geography right, though. (i.e. the river Mersey)

I still took great pleasure levelling the entire city. Levelled Birkenhead too, just for good measure.

The first mission in Resistance: Fall of Man takes place in York. It's awesome. I might go on it and see if I recognise the buildings, although its set in the 50s, so not sure how different it's become.

Well no. It's rare that a game will be set in england int he first place, let alone a location other than London.
I raise you Restistance: Fall of Man

It had Grimsby, for christ's sake. I bet everyone outside the country thought it was a madeup name, they thought "Hur Hur, 'Grimsby' implies Grim, so it's a weak pun...noone would ACTUALLY call a place Grimsby"

Here? HAH! We only got running water 3 days ago, the internet is scheduled for next year.
The how are you on the internet now?
Sigh...

I want you to see me face palming. I was joking. There's just a joke running around my city that it's boring and nothing happens here. Population 1.5 million though, and yes we really do have the internet.

Left 4 Dead was actually set in my home town (Death Toll anyway, not sure about other campaigns) Yes Riverside is a real place in western PA. And to a lesser extent, the Pitt.
