Megaman Battle Network 3 made me cry, until they revived said character who 'died'. Then, I felt cheated.

I don't really cry, atleast not as a reaction of feeling sad, when it comes to gaming. But I can get a small tear of manliness in my eye just for the sheer awesomeness of some games - and some scenes or levels in particular.

Have I any examples? Hmm. Oh yes; the sniper level in Call of Duty 4 is one example. Just the brilliance of that level. Replaying Mega Man 2 after having not played it for a while. Going into a tavern in Baldur's Gate with that cheery medieval music in the background. Getting it on with Liara in Mass Effect (oh yeah).

Lost Odyssey. Many of the little memories you find had me tearing up. Especially the first one I think, with the little sick girl.
I never cried but I did choke up.
I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I wouldn't say I've ever actually cried (Because I'm super tough and manly and lift heavy objects) but I am often emotionally moved. I am very quick to get attached to characters and I'll admit I'm a huge sucker for corny storylines with heavy emphasis on love and friendship, provided it's not incredibly forced.

Fresh in my mind from recent replaying is Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. Which combines Nippon Ichi Software, Fairy Tales and Musicals, all things I love. It also had a heavy emphasis on friendship between the main character Cornet and Kururu, her best friend and living puppet. The ending made me quite sad.

Kururu, who was secretly the spirit of Cornet's deceased mother, is satisfied that Cornet finally is married to the prince of her dreams and can live a happy life without her. So Kururu's soul, like many other puppets through the course of the game, bids her farewell and her spirit moves on, leaving only a doll behind and Cornet singing one last farewell song Thanking her as the credits roll.

Ya this is gonna sound pretty dumb but I cried near the end of Halo 3 when it looked like Master Chief was dead.

OH COME ON! Use some freakin' spoiler tags! >_> I'm on my first playthrough of that game as I bought it on PS Store not too long ago >_> Not everyone had a Playstation when they grew up y'know...

Anyway, the games that immidiately pop to my mind is
- Valkyria Chronicles
Isara's death, the scene with Alicia where she throws the lance at the Marmota (and the ones afterwards), Faldio and the way he dies
- Heavy Rain
the fact that I cut off one of Ethans fingers, then later on made him drink "poison", freed Shaun and thought Ethan was gonna die any second afterwards...
- Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4... The endings of both of those games got me good.

I tend not to get very emotional when it comes to works of fiction, but, I will concur with people who mentioned Metal Gear Solid 3. The end of the game was quite the emotional rollercoaster.

Oh yes, definatly and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Final Fantasy X's ending.

Red Dead Redemption's ending made me watery eyed, but not cry.

Dragon Age: Origins, just before the final battle.

Bioshock - Good ending.

I cried to WoW the other day because I realised all my gear will be useless for when Cataclysm releases.

Oops, sorry!

The game is so ubiquitous in discussions of JRPGs in general and the FF series in particular I thought everyone had played it by now. or at least knew the story.

I've said it before I'll say it again:
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky/Time/Darkness.
When Grovyle sacrifices himself and at the end when your character disappears.
They both turn out good though. I still get sad when I hear these though:

In FFIX I found Vivi's story very moving, as were a few moments in FFX.
In FFVII when Aeris' mum tells you her story - bearing in mind I was 7 at the time - I found it very emotional and it broguht tears to my eyes. The whole way through that scene, Aeris' theme is playing and, due to this, it will always have a place in my heart.

So, yes.

Not cry, but GTA IV's Deal ending made me... really fucking depressed and a bit sad. The line from Niko after the cutscene fades out didn't exactly help.
Still GTA IV, the Lost and Damned's ending was seriously bittersweet, and definitely got a slight half-smile outta me. The book ends (TVTropes?) moment helped, too.

Yeah, there was Planesape Torment too. The happy ending sees you going to hell to be punished for eternity.

What's it with endings always being the most emotional, anyway?
... stupid question is stupid.
