And RDR? No. Partly because it was so obviously going to happen (why else would I be forced to endure more herding BS, other then for something disastrous to happen?), and partly because I was so pissed off at the pacing.

It takes forever for any real story elements to happen all throughout the game (the pacing is dreadful), and there are 6 or so missions more, mostly of the worst type (the farm-hand stuff) in a poorly realised attempt at foreshadowing/character building.

It's a very good game, but I'm perplexed by people's fascination with the ending. It's not exactly a new thing.

AND HE COULD HAVE JUST GONE TO MEXICO!
no its nice, he died so his family could live a peaceful life of farming, if he had fled they would have been hunted down
By who? The incompetent agents who required an army to go after him and had to have him find his former gang members?

He knew people in Mexico, and had essentially wiped out any actual enemies he had over there.
Well reyes turned out to be a corrupt tyrant in the end so might have handed him over to the goverment

That happens after the game's ending, and so would have made no bearing on his decision.

Persona 3 brought me pretty close. Especially at the beginning of fes when you find out that the protagonist did indeed die.

Final Fantasy IX. Vivi. Airship. Mages getting blasted by Waltz #1. The piano that accompanies the scene. Granted I was young when I first saw it. But it still makes me sob like a little girl when I see it.

Shadow of the Colossus.... Nuff said. I cried then clapped when the credits started to roll.

his whole decision was based on him sacrificing himself so that the goverment won't come after his family and they can live a happy crime free life

Yes, but Reyes hadn't turned become a tyrant who then might hand him over, so that'd have no bearing on his decision.

Not really cry, but come close to it. The ones that really were emotional to me were:

MGS 3
MGS 4
Red Dead Redemption
Final Fantasy X
And...a few others that I can't quite remember. I don't cry at games but that just means there hasn't been one yet that'd make me cry. I don't really cry at movies either, though...although I almost did during Toy Story 3, lol.

teared up a bit at the end of Red Dead... also got misty eyed when I found my Pokemon Crystal cartridge... and the battery had died... same goes for when my Gamecube got turned off and I lost a whole day's worth of progress in Animal Crossing (I was like 9)

and after Terranigma for SNES, for being such a great game.
This for me, actually.

Though I don't really cry or get choked up when a game makes me sad, I just feel depression.
A strong depression was also at the end of Ultima 9 (surprisingly enough) when the Avatar kills himself with the Armageddon spell.

Actually I cried during one the overdramatic but still dramatic reunions with the main character and
his daugher, who had those two kids.
. The ending was kind of o_O to me, because I didnt quite get some of it. It just didnt seem like a good ending, like it was portrayed as.

Well from a technical standpoint the ending was cliched. But by the time I got there I was emotionally invested in the characters and couldn't help but shed a couple tears.

Never. I have however deeply experienced several moments in games as really sad and beautiful, like the good ending of Bioshock 2 or the ending of Fatal Frame 2, or some moments in Homeworld.

1 game made my cry 1 made my really sad.

The game that made me cry is Shin Megami Tensai : Person 3 FES for the ps2, I recently got a ps2 emulator for the PC and thought id catchup on some fo the ps2s many RPGS, alot of people recommended this game and I played it, stellar story! In the begining its ridicilous and stupid but it all grows on you as you play, you build meaningful realationships with the people in the game and get to hear some sad storys.

The part that made me cry was at the very end, during the final boss battle you the charachter dies. When it happens its not really sad, but you get to live for another month and tie up loose ends and say goodbye to all ur "friends" in the game, its all set to this very emotional song : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qS1zK6UXPrk go listen to it and you might feel the sadness from it alone, the entier last month of the game is with that song.

In the very end you lay in the lap of the characthers love intrest as ur "friends" come rushing over and u gently fall asleep and die, its all very sad to play.

After that theres a epilog where you get to play ur love intreset and help her and your friends get over the main characthers death, that entier chapter is just so sad....

It was the first game that made me cry and before the game I hadent cried in 6-7 years!

The game that made me sad was fable 2. Only the level a perfect day or whatever its called was abit sad for me, Rose ur sister in the game had setup all these activies for you and everything was so perfect and u had to leave while she was running and screaming for you to stay :(

Either way I recommend both of those games for ANYONE looking for stellar and intresting games, Persona 3 FES is a must play for EVERYONE alive on this earth, its the best game every made even tho the gameplay isent the best :)

The scene in Undead Nightmare with the Sasquatch. That made me rethink my actions in games entirely.

quite a lot, so long as i wasnt expecting it. for example, i had already had
john marston's death
spoiled for me so i was alright. but the opening of heavy rain was too much. just the opening.

red dead redemption, though in my case it was the fact that it was personally relatable that probably did it.

ive also laughed myself to tears on a few games, the strangest of which was the demo for fusion frenzy that came with halo:ce. i have no idea why, but that game nearly suffocated me with how much i laughed at it.

Never cried, but my first time through fallout 3 was very emotional. The slideshow at the end really shows how far you've gone through the whole thing. I thought it was great. Especially if your a good character and when they show a picture of you with your dad.
