Pretty simple

This latest Extra Credits episode got me thinking about the possibility of a game making someone cry. I don't remember ever crying playing a game.

This question has probably been asked a million times but I have never seen it :p

The worst sorrow i've felt in a game was when Mordin died off in the final mission of ME 2
"Tell them... I held the line"
No crying though, but i was pretty sad.

Oh I should mention you crying from frustration doesn't count, and I believe the end of brutal legends made me super sad but i'm not sure. Oh and the dog dying in fable 2

I was misty by the end of the Portal Song.

Can replying to posts with no further content than "this has already been done" be considered trolling?

I have played a few games in which I did felt sad after certain scenes. But I don't think I ever really cried. I did come close though.

Valkyria Chronicles:

When Isara died

Final Fantasy 7

When Aeris died

Metal Gear Solid 3

When the Boss died

Shadow of the Colossus

When Agro (supposedly) died.

Final Fantasy 6.

Which part?

When Celes, Edgar, and Setzer (and, depending on your choices, possibly Sabin) board the second airship, take off, plow through the water into the sky, and the AMAZING theme "Searching for Friends" plays.

The song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-ClGdaICGI <-- Just listening to this right now made my eyes water a little.

The scene was so powerful: hope in a world they thought was hopeless thanks to the ridiculous luck in Setzer having a second airship that the apocalypse managed to spare.

I hate most Japanese games. I hate Square-Enix. But I still love Final Fantasy 6.

EDIT - Below is the scene in question from the GBA version, which means the music is slightly inferior, but still gets the job done. *sniffle*

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0lpdtLJxr0 <-- At 2:40, approximately.

All the professor layton games evoke big amounts of emotion in me:
The curious village:
{i was strangely moved for some reason by Flora's decision to let the villagers just rust when they seemed so human }

Pandora's box
{Antoine's misunderstood love for his wife and the way the hallucinogen caused him to think Sofia was his wife, plus the love letter she left in the box made me cry }

The Lost Future
{Luke moving away and Claire's "Death"}

Something always gets in my eye during many Beyond Good & Evil scenes, and the ending of Silent Hill 2. Damn dust... :p

Mother 3 made me cry, and it still does whenever I read about the ending again. Or play it again. Or watch a video of the ending.

Holy shit.
Ninja'd by the first post.
I'm not sure if I cried, but I was indeed sad. Probably the saddest a game has made me.

When Garrus got shot in the chest in ME2, followed by Legion getting destroyed, and half of my crew dying inside the Normandy. I was depressed.

Alan Wake made me cry out of fear when I was drunk... (on fear)
