In the WEIRDEST way, Red Dead made me cry, not when John dies, but when his son kills the Us Marshall, it just made one of the best ends to one of the best father/son stories ever, all wrapped up in one manly as hell package

Yes, Heavy Rain. Twice.

Once, when
I lost Jayden in the car compactor during my first playthrough. I felt responsible for his horrible, horrible death...

And the other time, when
Ethan died after being shot by the snipers, after all of the shit he had to go through to save his son.

Right at the end of DA:O where you choose the party members that will go through denerim with you and the parting words with the rest of your party, after 32 hours of play and talking with them, developing friendships with them and knowing they might die made me tear up quite a bit, the one that affected me the most was sten for some reason.

I think the reason it got to me is because my character is the silent protagonist it felt more like the game was about your party member's stories rather than your own.

No, it's quite the opposite of trolling, most real forums would have shut down a dupe thread like this.

But anyway...many movies have made me cry...but never a game, maybe that says that video games are still quite a bit behind films in quality story telling.

Call of Juarez both parts especially when
the youngest one dies I forgot his name
almost made me cry but other than that nothing I kinda cried when I couldn't play GS 2(I didn't have internet then) does that count.

Kingdom Hearts 2. HOW COULD YOU KILL OFF GOOFY?! Biggest twist in any game.
He don't die... Do you really believed for a second that Disney would let Square kill Goofy?

I did cry a little in the Okami ending... That was the only game I actually cried on.

Yes, this question is almost a joke now. Videogames are art, deal with it, they have the capability of pulling emotion out of you.

BROTHERS IN ARMS HELL'S HIGHWAY
when Red Hartsock is let go, at the end.

THE DARKNESS
when you you're restrained by the Darkness, and have no control, as Uncle Paulie murders Jenny right in front of your very eyes. All in first-person
.

My eye's welled up and there's a chance I might have shed a tear at the end of Final Fantasy 9. Tears of happiness. That was more of a prolonged cutscene than actual gameplay so not sure if it really counts.

Looking through the posts here it seems the Japanese dominate the market.

Agree that Homeworld was very emotional, no tears, though.

The ending of The Darkness is the saddest scene I have ever witnessed in a video game. It was extremely well done.

Bioshock 2.
Bioshock the first.
Fallout 3.
Red dead.
Heavy rain.

No tears just sadness.

The end of Metal Gear Solid 4. I adore that game...

(Note these tears were made of pure testosterone and were in the shape of fists.)

FFIX - I was 12 and it was the first RPG i'd ever played through and had never played anything like it. I cried because the ending was sappy and because I didn't want the game to be over.

FFXI - Because it caused so many problems between me and my girlfriend at the time lol.
