Sounds like you were holding in so much that that made you explode, mate. You gotta learn to cry.

On topic, I'd say Sonic Adventure One with Omega dying at the end made me bawl like a baby. And so did the ending of Pikmin. There have been a few other instances, but only so many. Those are the ones that come to mind immediately.

Edit: I remember tearing up a bit at the end of Portal 2. It felt like the end of something huge, and so... it kind of got to me. I also liked how emotional the song was.

Not that I can think of really. Crash Bandicoot 2 makes me tear up a little, but that's just because I miss my childhood.
really? for me it just gives me a nostalgia boner.

On a serious note, no I don't think I've ever cried at a game, but some endings that I think are REALLY epic I get all giddy and have to talk to myself about it for the next three days until I get over how awesome it was.

Only one time ever: In Ace Combat 5 (Ps2) when uh, was it Chopper? Yeah, Chopper. The mission where he died made me cry tears of awesome. Well, also of sadness, because I couldn't believe it. I had gotten so attached to my squadron, and then they replace him with the other guy,Swordsman, and I felt like it was just a kick to the balls. Felt like screaming 'YOUR NOT CHOPPER DAMNIT! YOU'LL NEVER BE WHAT HE WAS!' *nerdrage, throw controller*. As a matter of fact, I played it again a few months ago to see if I would get the same reaction, and I did, albeit a much less intense one.

No but Shadow of the Colossus made me come close. I never actually finished the game but I watched a video of the ending and I think I teared up a little.

Yep.

Kingdom Hearts - The title screen... yeah

Kingdom Hearts 2 - .... damn I think there were multiple times >.>

Metal Gear Solid 2 -
When Emma dies in Otacon's arms and he confesses what really happened to him when they were kids.

Metal Gear Solid 3 - Should be pretty damn obvious

Metal Gear Solid 4 -
Ending 1, Ending 2, Ending 3. Everything. o.o

And lots of other things probably. I know Nier did and so did.... a few others. Just can't think right now.

I don't remember any instances in which a game made me cry, but there are some that made me came pretty damn close.

Final Fantasy VII:

Aeris died, despite the fact I already knew what was going to happen, I was pretty saddened to see her die and slump over in Cloud's arms like that.

Valkyria Chronicles:

When Isara died. Her death was completely out of left field, and it was literally right after she and Rosie became friends. After that, Rosie sang at her funeral. That scene still chokes me up to this day.

hmmm.... i guess i teared up a bit at portal 2's ending. Wouldn't say I full on cried.

You know.... that's weird. Off the top of my head, I can think of several examples of books, movies, and even TV shows that made me cry, but not a single video game. I can think of examples where I got really invested with the characters(Mass Effect and NWN2, for instance), but not one that made me actually cry.

Maybe if someone had died on my suicide mission in ME2 I'd have cried. I dunno, I feel like I've gotta be missing at least ONE game that made me cry.

The Overlord DLC of Mass Effect 2 made me cry. That last scene was just....I couldn't help it.

Nope. But then, there's only a handful of movies, books, and TV shows that have made me cry, so that's not saying much. Let's see if I can figure it out....

2 movies
1 book
2 Tv shows

And that's all I'm saying on the matter.

Ace Combat 5, when Chopper's plane was hit and he guided it into the ground in a stadium so it wouldn't hit any houses if he ejected/failed to eject.

More times than I'd like to admit. I get more invested in most games story and character than I do for those of books or movies. You spend so much more time with the characters, and if the game is well-written you really start to feel for them. Their sadness is your sadness, and often their tears are my tears. Sort of a pain in the ass. That's why I don't play games like those when other people are around. =P

For me it would have to be the first time I beat Kingdom Hearts. It may have been due to lack of sleep for staying up late to finish it, but so far its the only game that I have played that has actually brought me to tears.

I played Tsukihime when I was 9. Terrible idea. Arceuid's storyline? Yeah...

I dunno if that counts as a game or a visual novel, though...

Portal 2. They were kind of tears of relief, but it's not that I hated the game, the opposite in fact, so I guess they were tears of joy.
Also, on an only semi-related note, if you want to cry, watch an anime called AnoHana
