[]Oh, wow, I really didn't mean it like that. I was just fucking around; but you should still see A Serbian Film.
Oh... ok then, fair enough :)

Honestly... I watched the trailer and read the story on Wiki and i'm not sure I'd be able to watch the whole thing. Then again, I got all the way through Encyclopedia Dramatica 'Offended'.. I'm not sure it could be worse than that.

Gears of War Two, shockingly.

When Dom had to put his wife down, and when Tai killed himself. It was so random, out of no where like, bang. No more Tai.

I can't think of anything else, but there's a good chance I'll be back with more.

EDIT: Back.

The Darkness, as mentioned above, and KoTOR
When I found out you're Revan was from the Wookiepedia, and I was shocked. It would have been even better in the story.

When in Infinite Undiscovery there was a on screen child death...
Similar instance in Tales of the Abyss
However, the child happened to be trapped under his father's corpse, due to the fact that you destroyed his town. The bit of ground he was on then sank into a poisinous mixture of mud and miasma, killing him slowly. Hell, just describing the scene is shocking

Gears of War 2, and anyone who's played the game knows what it was. Yes, I saw something like that coming, but how it was presented was surprisingly good for Gears of War.

Halo Reach
Your death, where after a short fight (done to add a final bit of flavor to the following scene) has you watch helpless as your avatar becomes a character built from your actions, your thoughts, and your own imagination fight a hopeless battle, where the screen fades to black before the fight is over, giving you hope, and having you make excuses for them to live, only to crush those hopes with a few simple sentences. A speech is made to tell you the worth of the sacrifice, but like a relative of a war hero, it doesn't soften the blow. You ask why your character didn't just run, only to realize you would have done the same. Your family was dead, the last transport left, the world you were on was dead, and the bastards responsible were in front of you. You weren't going to run from that. It used a blend of emotions, and logical responses to properly manipulate the scene in order to shock you.

SotC, the whole damn game. And then the examination of the game afterwards.

Heavy Rain. The threat of perma-death was a great idea, as every action scene really did get your adrenaline pumping.

Mass Effect 1&2: Anytime a party character died.

Metal Gear Solid 4
Microwave tunnel. Like Reach, you are pulled from playing to watching, only allowed to encourage Snake to move along. Here you watch the man once hailed as the greatest warrior on earth try to crawl through this tunnel (which is worse when you know exactly what the waves are doing to his flesh). You see the suit which has allowed him to come this far explode against him, witness the Solid Eye, argueable the best tool in the game, turn into shrapnel while still being worn, and then in the end get to see his agonized expression as he steps out (no triumphant victory smile, only pain). All the while, everyone else on your side is being torn apart on the cutscene above you.

As mentioned somewhere before, definitely the end of HL2 Ep2, it was more my personal run of emotion that shocked me the most, I'd become so immersed in the story line when that happened, the voice acting, the presentation, it left me shaking.

At the end of the "No Russian" level in Modern Warfare 2. The guy freaking shoots you in the head, I thought I had him fooled. I was shooting everybody there too.

Actually, the Shock and Awe part of CoD4. Just didn't expect that.

Also Eternal Sonata with the fucking hour long credits. I saw the ending to Red Dead Redemption coming, but I was still not prepared for it.

There are quite a few moments that made me pause, but only a few that truly shocked me, had me gripping the edge of my chair as I watched in fascinated horror.

Mass Effect 2:
The opening cutscene, as I watch the ship that I've used all the last game, trusted and relied upon, be utterly destroyed in front of me. That ship felt like as much a part of my crew as any of the characters did, and I was truly shocked to see it blasted into nothingness, as well as watch Shepherd, MY Shepherd, be pulled into the planet's gravity as the air rushed from his suit.

Megaman X: Command Mission:
Finding out that Spider, who had given his life to save Zero, was actually the evil Redips, and had been pretending to be my friend and teammate all along, blew me away. Finding out that we had killed Epsilon only to further Redip's goal even more so. I was literally furious, and I didn't put the controller down until Zero's blade was embedded in Redip's face.

Kingdom Hearts II:
Finding out that Roxas was only Sora's Nobody all along, and standing in front of the machine that would wake Sora up. Roxas knowing that he would lose himself, and his friends, even if it was only a digital world created for Roxas. However, he sacrificed himself anyway, to bring Sora back to save the world.

Fire Emblem 7:
After a brief Cutscene involving Eliwood getting Durandel, an Ice Dragon appears in front of him. Eliwood cuts it down without a thought, and Nergal appears. Nergal then explains that Ninian, Eliwood's Love, escaped from him, though she was bound to her form as an Ice Dragon. Eliwood then realizes that the Dragon he killed was Ninian, who merely tells him how glad she is she hadn't hurt him. I was shocked by this scene, and would not rest until I had killed Nergal for his tricks. As Eliwood got the final blow, I found myself screaming, "For Ninian!"

-Raptor, out.

The last scarecrow sequence, where it started with you seeing him at the end of the corridor, and then the screen cracking up as if the game has crashed. But that was more of an "omg that was awesome" scene, than a shock.
I was really shocked by that and was in the process of writing an e-mail to an e-bay vendor in a very menacing tone before I realized that it was part of the game

OT

At the last part of my game Grunt was sliding down on the floating platform and Shepard was able to jump and catch him and then Zaeed got taken out like two seconds later by some falling debris. I was absolutely shocked by his sudden death.

Fallout 3, little town of Andale. Seeing them all happy and kinda scary; then picking the lock of the shed and seeing what they had hanging from the ceiling and in the fridge. Although, that moment wasn't half as shocking as coming out of the shed and seeing them all standing outside holding guns and looking meaningfully in my direction.
That was kinda funny for me. I had a super character, so I lied, they believed me, and I used Lincoln's Repeater to shoot the everloving shit out of them. Then I talked to the old man. I liked him, but felt bad. So lonely.

No, not worse, just more fucked up. . . err, that is a horrible way to put it, because both are really fucked up. Give it a watch, you'll regret it ;P

*slaps* :p

I'm gonna go old school and say Starcraft.

I really don't need a spoiler tag to say that it's when Kerrigan gets turned.

Edit: Oh, and I guess in the second one where

Tychus tried to shoot her.
That revelation must've given you quite the rush of adrenaline...

.>

...a zerg rush.

SPOILERS AHEAD BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT FANCY THING THE OTHER KIDS ARE DOING. DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ DON'T READ.

So, I thought the bit after the credits for Halo: Reach was really great. It's been a long time since a game really went out of its way to let me know that I was doomed and fucked and any attempt to save myself, even in the story, was futile. It was very bitter and sweet, and I loved it.

Grand Theft Auto IV shocked me by getting me so immersed in it's world that I realized I was actually trying to follow traffic laws in cars and that when I had to take a break to eat edible things, I was watching television in the game at my apartment on the television in real life at my house. Woah.

Half Life 2: Episode 2's ending was awful, but amazing, but awful. I also like the part where Alex fucks with you on that part where you're waiting for the elevator to arrive in the dark depths of hell.

Final Fantasy 4 surprised me by telling a tragic story from the get-go that heavily implied the death of a very human little girl at some point. Few things ever directly address the death of children, especially be violent means, in movies, games, or even books. So-like-woah.
