Herein lies my explanation for the confusing thread title.
I have, for the time being, burned myself out in Halo: Reach. After 5 campaign playthroughs in a row (the last one on the incredibly frustrating Legendary) I caught myself with the urge to play through Halo 3 for the sixth time. Which I duly did, on Heroic. Though it was sadly short, taking me only 2 days to get through, it reminded me of why I'd loved the game in the first place - it's just damn fun, especially the first two levels on the Ark. Short, but sweet, would be my description.
I then got the urge to play through ODST again, which I am doing (again on Heroic, as it's "the way Halo's meant to be played" and all that). It's having the same effect. I am getting enthralled with New Mombasa's atmosphere all over again.
So, have any of you Escapists had a similar experience? Have you bought a game which then inspired you to play older games in the same series, or even completely unrelated games?
