everything past the military base is really damn difficult...

If it was the one packaged on the Mega Games cart (with Golden Axe and Streets of Rage) then yes, yes I have.

Anyone ever beat golden axe without cheats? That game was a true arcade style coin eater... I just couldn't finish it, ever.

Now you mention it, yes, I beat all the games on that cart a few times due to it being the only game I had for the system for about 6 months at the time.

Once you discovered the -> -> B moves on Golden Axe the game got a bit trivial...
