I couldn't be bothered to do it in Gold/Silver, so if someone has managed it with titles eclipsing that roster several times over, I'll be in awe of their dedication to imprisoning helpless critters in a ball, and by extension, a virtual prison beyond physical space. Fekkin' 'ell, we're the real monsters.

I not only have every pokemon, I have every single pokemon there is...at once! My poke bank has over 700 pokemon in it, and they are all different species.

I can't recall how long it took, but I did a ton of wonder trades for that.

I have 718 which is all the past ones, but not the usual 3 "legendary" ones with the current gen. Can't give a time frame as it's been a collection from the GBA days, which were a restart from the original GB days.

I have them all! I can't vouch for the authenticity of a few of the event legendaries I have. However, unless you live in Japan, getting legit event Pokemon is pretty difficult. If Gamefreak wants us to have them all, either put them all in the game, have more events outside Japan, or deal with the fact that hackers will hand out rare events to people who want them.

Anyway, it's not that hard to get all the normal Pokemon, as long as you have several games. As it stands, If you have the 4th, 5th, and 6th gen games, you could probably track down every Pokemon excluding the aforementioned event legendaries. Since the DS and 3DS can be used for trades, it's not unreasonable to assume lots of people still have at least one DS sitting around to help them complete the task.

As for how long it took, I remember it took a few months of playing on and off to find and transfer all the Pokemon from the 3rd gen, to the 4th gen, to the 5th gen where I completed the Pokedex for the first time. Once Pokemon Bank came out, I was able to transfer all my Pokemon in the 5th gen to the 6th gen, and BAM! Full Pokedex! I already had all the new 6th gen Pokemon since there were so few of them to begin with.

Yeah I've got 'em all excluding Hoopa and Volcanion. I've made some mistakes sending up Pokemon that didn't need to be sent up but ever since gen 5 I've had the pokedex complete without much trouble.

I completed the Dex (709, minus some events) on Omega Ruby but could just as easily get them all onto X/Y. It took about 2 weeks after I decided to go through with it. Most of the time was spent leveling, breeding or doing those training games to win evolution stones and those that I could I got via trading to speed up the process.

My dex on X runs at 718. Only missing Manaphy of the released 'mons, which bugs me but as an event only Pokemon, doesn't really matter!

All I'm missing on my X save is Hoopa, which has only come out in certain Asain countries with the movie, and Volcanion, which hasn't released at all.

So for all intents and purposes, yes, my X dex is pretty much as complete as it can be until America gets some distribution event love, but it never does.

My OR save us at 716. Have a couple Pokemon I don't own but borrowed for X, and just haven't been able to yet for Y. Victini, Mew and one other I can't remember off the top of my head.

Hard to imagine. Most I ever got to was 148 in the first game.
Always meant to complete it, since I had the means to get the missing ones, but I never did.

From there, it got increasingly absurd, 700+? Who would even manage that unless you had an extreme obsession?

I have 712 different species sitting in my pc in numerical order, however my pokedex has 717 registered as caught. My total time played for pokemon Y is 216 hours. It only took about 150 hours to register the 717 pokemon. To get the 712 different species in my pc took about 250 mainly because I used omega ruby to catch some the pokemon there.

And to top it all off every pokemon that can be bred (ie basically anything that isn't a legendary) has been registered as caught in gen 6. Now I have no reason to play pokemon anymore.

If anyone has a spare mew, shaymin, arceus, victini, keldeo, meloetta, or genesect I'll gladly take them to fill in those last 7 missing slots in my pc.

Yep, I have. Only a small handful are Pokemon I don't actually have too (mostly event exclusives like Manaphy, Meloetta, etc) and just touch-traded those. All I need is Hoopa at this point.

Close, I was missing mostly event legendaries and the like. I just collected all of the Pokemon I'd earned in my Platinum, Soul Silver, White 2 runs and combined them together, I also got lucky on my purchase of Platinum, as the guy had about twenty legendaries, including some hard to find ones that were from earlier games.

I'm working on doing this now, just I'm blatantly using hacks as I no longer care.

I don't think so. They're all event pokemon.

I'm actually about 2/3 of the way done with the National Dex and a handful of Pokemon are left to complete the Regional (Kalos) Dex.

My secret: Pokemon Omega Ruby (or Alpha Sapphire will work as well).

Since you can re-challenge past trainers all over Hoenn, with their Pokemon stronger and fully evolved, you will gain WAY MORE experience to level up your Pokemon. It literally took me about 10 minutes to get my Lvl. 1 Dratini to a Lvl. 56 Dragonite.

It would probably take me another month to get as close as I can to completing the National Dex as a can (because the Legendaries are hard to come by).
