I just picked this up today and it is a full history lesson on why my childhood, despite the Pokemon era and handheld renaissance, was pretty unimaginative in terms of video game ideas. I mean Super Mario 64 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time were pretty awesome, but in terms of sheer off the wall game design ideas I've never seen a game like Comix Zone. Or J-RPGs that are quite like Shining Force or the original Phantasy Star games. It's like while I was growing up to primary school age I missed a ton of bizarre games that I would have loved as a child but was just unaware they existed. And I was probably too young to play them too.
I love this Mega Drive Collection disk, not because I've ever played ANY of these games before but because to me they're so fresh and new even though they are ten years old in some cases. I will try and unlock Shinobi 1 if I can, but for now I will get to play pre-3D Sonic games. ^___^
