Has Anyone Ever Been Racist/Sexist/Discriminatory To You?

Just out of curiosity (and cause I couldn't find it in the Search Bar) I want to ask,
Has anyone in the Escapist ever been subjected to Racism and/or Sexism in their life?
Also note, I'm very curious to hear about whites and/or males facing one of these, because like one of my college proffers said:
"You really don't get a feel for racism until you've yourself have went through it."

As a German-born living in the US, I've had my fare share of discrimination (not sure what the specific word for discrimination against a nation).
The first time I experienced it is when I was just a wee young thing. I was outside in the US of A, playing with my Mom in the front yard. The woman next door came over to us, striking up a chat with my mom. They were having a discussion when the neighbor-lady asked where my Mom got her jeans. "Oh, these? I bought them at cloth shop in my village, in Germany."
And with a dead-serious face, this woman than asks my Mom "Oh, you people have those? I thought you were only allowed skirts!"

That was about a decade or so ago. Think that the American community would get better educated over that time? Nope...

Whilst talking with a track-member of an opposing team at a Track Meet, I was talking about the village I lived in and told him about how we have Horse and Carriage rides for tourists.
"Man, how do you guys deal with all the shit?" he asks me with a jokey but slightly serious tone.
"Um...it's only a couple horses, their easy enough to clean after..."
"What? But don't you guys, like, use them to get around?" now with all serious.
"...."

And there's been smaller cases. Been called "Little Hitler" or "Nazi In Stealth Mode," and sometimes when a conversation I'm in turns to something socialist or Holocaust-ish, they'll turn to me with a knowing look and say "Well, you should know all about that, eh?" sometimes as a jokes, sometimes serious.

So, dear Escapists, has anyone ever been that discriminating at you to such a degree?

Being a white American male, there isn't a lot for them to say, so no.
But I have most certainly seen it around me.

I'm 100% Polish but an American (lived here all my life). I've heard every Polish joke imaginable, been called a communist (Poland didn't take kindly to communism, and if you want to disagree both my parents lived there and every person they knew hated it), and been told I would "charge tanks with horses". It's all funny when it's just my friends doing it but sometimes it gets a bit overbearing

Well I am white. But I'm from Canada, so I've heard my fair share of dumb stereotypes. I've also been called a nerd on many occassions, although that hardly bothers me anymore.

Nope, nothing like that here. Might be due to the simple fact that I'm a white male. Closest it gets was when some random annoying kid 'insulted' me for being a skater with sandals. I just laughed really hard and wondered what he hell he was on, though, I'm as much a skater as Obama's a hot chick.

Well I'm a white straight property owner, I think it's physically impossible to discriminate against me. I do get bullshit about being intelligent enough to be an atheist though. also why the hell would you know anything about socialism? the third Reich was a fascist regime not a socialist one.
Sorry for being off topic, but could you please explain to me how your "intelligent" simply for being atheist?

If they have, i was completely oblivious to the fact, I really don't pay attention to other people or what they say that much, or laugh it off as a joke if I do notice.

Perhaps he's being ironic? You know, go into a topic about discrimination and religiously discriminate against the people in there?

Sure being Jewish has had its up and downs. Some kid threatened to bake my family in an oven, others have written Jew over my backpack followed by a barcode under it. My name has been reduced to being called Jew. None of it bothers me that much though so it stops after a while.

I can't because you have your causality switched.
Ok, perhaps I'm understanding you wrong, but it seems to me you said you get discriminated against because you are intelligent enough to be atheist. As in you have required intelligence to be atheist, if that is not what you meant, please explain your self to me.

Women are more sexist than they think, (in my experience). I've had plenty of times where a girl will, in the same sentence, refuse to do something like cooking because 'girls shouldn't have to do it all the time', and then order me to do something like get firewood because 'that's man's work'. Do they want to be treated as equals, or do they want doors held open for them?

Racism I haven't experienced myself, but I have been with a group of Taiwanese girls who got abused by people driving past. That was pretty shocking.

They did charge tanks with horses.

And I'm a honky, so I don't get much discrimination. Although I do get blamed for it a lot.
