Having searched the EA help forums it definately seems that Im not the only one having problems getting DS3 to download from Origin. It lead me to wonder if there was anyone who has, and if you have managed to get that ticker to 100% and get the game working, could you post here and give a brother some hope?
Maybe that would restore my faith in humanity and stop me throwing my pc out of the nearest window in a fit of rage. Y'know, that there is light at the end of the tunnel, that kinda thing would be super helpful right now.
Its been 3 days, the dl has restarted 8 times at the 60-70% mark. Seriously, does what are EA thinking? Does their hubris know no bounds?

I got DS3 through Origin, but I can't recall any difficulties downloading and installing it at all.

Off the top of my head, it should resume the download instead of restarting from 0%, but you could try toggling the retain downloaded files option somewhere. Maybe it cleared the local cache between download attempts instead of retaining it (I dunno, I always kept it on because of reinstalls).

Another thought is that due to the Humble Bundle deal going on, the service is currently flooded, but that shouldn't prevent you from getting to 70% *8* times.

It could be that the remaining 30% is of the actual installation, while the previous was downloading, and you're just being impatient since it does take awhile to install, but I don't know how long you've waited at that mark.

That said, my games HDD did die a couple weeks ago and I lost all my games, and I have to reinstall a lot of them, both on Steam and Origin, I'll go start up DS3 again and see if it occurs on my side.

I'll also pass the info to an EA/Origin buddy who's probably more capable than I am at diagnosing the problem, if you can pass me your origin ID so he can look it up.

Well that was quick, I showed him the thread and he says there's a bug with it and they're rolling out a fix for it shortly. Unfortunately I don't think he's authorized to give any more detail other than that.

It is not an installation problem, it has not gotten that far, although I'm sure that even if I get the download step completed that the installation will gam up as well just to add more insult to injury.
To clarify; It doesn't get stuck at 60-70% causing me to impatiently do a manual restart. It starts to download, then at somewhere between 60% and 70% the progress bar just drops back to zero. And this continues ad infinitum. You have to download the whole package before it starts the installation process, that's a whole different progress bar, I'de love to see that bar, it would be progress to even get to that stage. That's not all either. If I pause the DL it goes to zero, if I exit Origin it goes to zero. Sneeze and it goes to zero.
EA's official guidance is to re install the latest version of origin. And that's all the guidance they have. Not being a moron/technophobe I had already tried that fix before taking to the forums.
It is comforting to hear that the problem has been recognized at least. Fingers crossed.

Install the beta update and it should fix it.
- Launch Origin and log in with your account
- Click Origin in the top left (main menu)
- Select Application Settings
- From General tab, scroll down to "Update to the beta version if available" and tick the checkbox
- Restart Origin

No issues for me. In fact, I got a download speed of 2.5 MB/s.

That's more than I have ever gotten. Origin seems to like me :']

My friend, that was downloading at the same time, had a similar issue to you but he managed to get it eventually.

weird when i open up the dlc menu ingame from a bench or suit vendor it only lists pay dlc and no resource packs at all
That's pretty weird indeed. Maybe they are not available in your region or something? That's all I can think of.

I'm experiencing the problem.
All resource packs are AWOL
I can still see the suits.
The region thing might make sense, I'm in the Singapore region and all the prices are in Singapore Dollars.
Then again the Dead Space wiki says there's a bug with resource packs, so I have no idea.

Same with me, no download problems and I got 2-2.5 MB/s. I usually cap out at 1.3 MB/s with Steam and other direct downloads.
Maybe it's just cause nobody uses Origin so their servers are freed up :p

this did not resolve the issues I've been having with my downloads stalling and having to restart Origin.

The installation kept getting stuck after a few minutes, so I kept closing Origin and starting it up again. Worked as well as it sounds, but eventually I managed to install it.
I think it was my routers fault though. It loses connection for like a millisecond once in a while(it's a fucking antique). On Steam it just quits downloading for a little while, but on Origin it seemed to kill it completely.

Nope, it's just Origin being crappy. Quite a few people had the problem, myself included.

You also have to create a EACore.ini file on your desktop containing the following:
[connection]
EnvironmentName=production

[Feature]
CdnOverride=akamai
Then restart Origin and hit Yes on the confirmation window.

You don't need to create a EACore.ini file, all you have to do is download the patch from the Beta.

Apparently not, judging by Bertylicious' post. Unless the issue has been fixed during the last hour.

I used the .ini file as well to download my games, but that solution has been moderated by EA staff and deleted wherever it was posted. First they release a beta update, which apparently doesn't fix the download issue for everyone, then they don't allow them to use this file (which is really fucking dumb since after you've finished your downloads it's easy to remove). Pretty fucking clueless overall. <3 EA.
