I think it's more of a trend, for one sex to feign bisexuality so the other sex will find them more appealing. (Because girl on girl is hawt.)

Not that all of them are like this but i'm sure at least some of them are.

Same here, especially at my old school. I think its just to get attention, I doubt they actually are bisexual. That would really fit with most people I've seen in the 'emo' trend, they'll do most anything for attention.

You mean bisexual bisexual or Hey ladies! I'm bisexual now! Am I deep or what?! Take off your pants; it's ok I'm kinda gayish! bisexual?
Eh, I'd hesitate to casually call it a fad, or a trend, or a ploy to attract parters of the opposite sex, for fear of invalidating an important part of someone's identity. I've been led to believe that it's kind of a big deal.

Anecdotal evidence isn't exactly reliable.

I'd say anyone in there teens claiming to be bisexual are just trend fags.
brooding hormone dispensers will do or claim anything to fit in, but if you strongly claim (and get me into an arm lock) ill recognize you.
but for now harmless trend. it'll be silly hats next.

That's what it was for me, for about a 10 month period all of my friends that are girls said they were bisexual when they were not. Big coincidence, it was right around when people were discovering their sexuality and probably wouldn't have known what to do with the oppisite sex if they had a chance to do something with them.

My GF likes to pretend-flirt with her friends a lot, in fact I find that common in a lot of women.

I have so many fantasies....

Yes it is, and creepily enough, it's actually becoming more common in men than in women...
How strange, it's almost like they're repressed...
Hey, it's not a bad thing. It's just weird when a guy asks you if you want to have a threesome with his girlfriend.

Sorry dude, but if there isn't one wang per doodle, I'm not for it.

However, if it were my wang and two or more doodles :)

No, It's just that people are more tolerant. People are less confused by sexual feeling for the same sex. Also more people are willing to come out as BI.

EDIT: Also in teens it isn't so much a trend as people exploring their own sexuality.

I think it comes more down to pansexuality, over bisexuality. That is, the attraction to anything they can sleep with, rather than clearly based gender differences.

I have nothing against Bi.
More common... hmmm well I think were are learning to love the person not the gender. Unlike say 70 years ago when it was gender first or your a weirdo

Yeah, tbh, I think its just become more accepted than before, and people aren't as afraid of confronting their alternative sexuality.

It's just a trend, mostly in the scene/emo groups. They think it's cool.
There's plenty of "bi" people around my area that wouldn't actually date someone of the same sex. It's just really, really cool to kiss the same sex. /sarcasm

Speaking as one myself, I don't think so. But, there's a trend for people to call themselves bisexual, get a bit more attention, attract people and such. It's pretty bullshit.

So it might be that, or it might be the fact that people feel they can be more open these days, compared back to a decade or so ago.

when i graduated from my HS, and i was talking to some of my friends that were a year behind me, i found out that about 10 kids in their 1st or 2nd year in HS were supposedly "Bi", and they were all friends or what not. IMO its a trend, because its becoming more openly accepted, kids now think they are Bi just because they have a curiosity towards the same sex. My Ex-gf thought she was bi, but after kissing another girl, it turned out she was just simply curious: goodbye bisexuality.

Well, assuming you're in high school, you're going to find that as you age, people will start to come to truly discover themselves. There's a THRIVING community of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders, and people that question their sexuality.

Now, for some people, a little experimentation is a trend. But to me, bisexuality is the most ideal form of finding love. :) A man or woman is not limited by gender in the instance of finding love when it comes to bisexuals. It's so ideal, that it's sad that I'm not bi.
