I WAS a devoted fan to the series until World at War crushed my heart. Then MW2 came out and jumped back on bored. I then finished the OVER-HYPED, OVER-BLOWN, and just plain stupid Call of Duty Black Ops. Now I hear of a "Call of Duty: IN SPACE" Which is being developed by one of the co-developers of MW3! Will the madness ever end. If this doesn't stop I predict that Call of Duty will become the "ALIEN" franchise of video game. Sure the first couple we're good but wow... now your crap.

If you are a Black-Ops fan boy don't be pissed it's only a opinion.

oh look, another COD hate thread. How originaly.

I am sorry but people just need to calm down, could you guys just wait like a couple of weeks?

I personally loved all the COD games, I don't think I will buy the next one but I don't think its out of control.

As someone who has never liked or much played any of the CoD games due to not liking more 'realistic' shooters: They're not pandering to you, they're a business. As much as I'm sure they'd love to make completely original games, they have families to feed and they're listening to what a vast majority of people are demanding, and then making it. There was clearly a lot of demand for a CoD sequel, and as it is, there's not much place else to go - either the past or space, and space is a rather cliched thing, but if it works, it works.

Oh yeah, and by the way: CoD hate threads aren't that great.

Not a huge fan of the series but they were all ok shooters. But no, if they want to take it to space and you don't like it... you have the option to just not care.
because it's not worth caring about...
just saying.

What? Mario is going into SPACE?!?!? WTF Nintendo? The Mario franchise has officially gone out of control!

Sorry, couldn't help myself. But really, a setting change means little if the overall feel and control of the game remain basically the same.

Also, I though Blops was better than CodMod2. The story was clumsy but clever at points, the multiplayer is fixed, and Modern warfare 2 was just stupid plotwise.

They are making a COD in space? Could you give me a little more info about this?

OT: I like the COD series but I think it gets special treatment when it comes to reviews and how people like it. Both MW2 and Black Ops got nearly perfect scores and I don't really know why. They seemed like the same game with a new paintjob.

If there was one thing MW2 excelled at far above Blops, it was actually getting to the game. You didn't have to sit through the company screens or half a dozen loads.

And like every other PS3 player, I can't help but call connection issues into question.

Note the 'realistic' in quotes.

The CoD in space is only a rumor as far as I'm aware.

Also..Modern Warfare 2 got the series 'back on board' after World at War? MW2 is the worst in the series so far, even worse than the 3rd.

Normally I would agree (also PS3 player), but I played the 360 version at my friends house, and it was wayyy worse. Laggy, dropped connections, graphic errors, the whole lot. I now think that both versions suck equally.

I liked CoD 4, and now I'm playing Black Ops. It's a good multiplayer FPS. I don't really care for space games. I was never a big fan of Battlefield 2142, despite Battlefield being my favourite multiplayer video game series.

But we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I hope they either continue with the modern day setting, or go about ten years into the future so we can use slightly newer guns and attachments.

if cod goes in to space it has to say there or everything else will feel like a step back.

and to me cod need to die, where is the appeal of playing the same game over and over with some new guns and some time not even a graphic upgrade? but then again no one has ever said cod looks good with colours like dog shit brown and gun metal gray. note im not trying to sound like i care for graphics i only care for game play.

if there is any appeal of playing cod over and over please tell me

Of course it's not out of control, if you think the series has gone downhill then stop playing them. If people are willing to buy new games then they will keep making new games, it's as simple as that. I like the series (like, not love) and I will probably keep buying future releases because I enjoy playing them. If at some point I stop enjoying them then I won't buy the next one and it will be gone out of my life, no need to give out about other people that still do enjoy the games though.

The issue is, if we waited a couple more weeks, Treyarch and Infinity Ward will have released 3 more CoD games in the meantime.

Why does everybody hate CoD 3 so much? I personally liked it, seeing as it was arguably the last time the series embraced any sort of "accuracy", instead of being focused on some Americanized, anti-Russian, cutting-room floor version of a James Bond story.

Yes I liked CoD 4, but that's just because they hadn't gone completely overboard by this time.

Yes. Just a little advice cause it seems your new, Don't make a thread about CoD being bad or out of control ect. People usually dicks the OP.

Anyways I like every CoD game because it gives me something to play with friends. If the next one is in space and Treyarch is handling it I will love it. I always thought Activison and Treyarch handled it lot better and they figured out that this is a game where their multilayer formula isn't realistic. Infinity ward doesn't get that.

Wait CoD 3, the last world war two one (besides WaW) I loved that one. I personally think that is the best in the series.

Dont you know that this is the internet and NO ONE cares about your opinion?

OT: I personally like the COD series. The single player campaigns are excellent and well done. And (when done correctly and balanced) the multiplayer is top notch.

The only call of duty i didnt play was World at War and only because it didnt appeal to me. See what i did there? I didnt like a game, so i didnt buy it. I know, shocker right? Turns out you still have this option now a days.

Loved COD4 MW on the PC. Activision ruined MW2 so they could sell map packs, the developers that made both of those massive games have left activision and now MW3 is going to be made by 3 different developers.

When you've seen the Beatles in concert it's hard to get excited by the bootleg beatles, especially when they charge twice as much.
