The CoD in space is only a rumor as far as I'm aware.

Also..Modern Warfare 2 got the series 'back on board' after World at War? MW2 is the worst in the series so far, even worse than the 3rd.
Why does everybody hate CoD 3 so much? I personally liked it, seeing as it was arguably the last time the series embraced any sort of "accuracy", instead of being focused on some Americanized, anti-Russian, cutting-room floor version of a James Bond story.

Yes I liked CoD 4, but that's just because they hadn't gone completely overboard by this time.
I found 3 a little disappointing, it was just not as good as the first 2. Not to mention the fact it wasn't released on PC, which pissed a lot of people off.

So are you saying that the CoD franchise is in danger of oversaturation?

If so, then you have my 100% agreement.

I only hated it because I had it on the wii and it couldn't really handle the game (more than like 6 enemies present at once and the motion controls lagged to the point where you aim teleported across the screen). Other than that it seemed like it would've been good on a console, only the attempting to force you to bond with characters being a bit of a drag (I normally don't mind this but they practically shoved it in your face like FEEL THIS EMOTION!!)

And I've heard nothing about a CoD in space - I'm assuming this is just a rumor that came up since Crysis 2's multiplayer demo is practically MW2 with a power suit.

Loved COD4 MW on the PC. Activision ruined MW2 so they could sell map packs, the developers that made both of those massive games have left activision and now MW3 is going to be made by 3 different developers.
They didn't leave they were fired

I quite like the COD series. I've played all of them except Black Ops, and I've fairly liked them. I did enjoyMW2 multiplayer quite a bit, though it made me angry quite a lot of times. But i did enjoy it, when i got the hang of it.
Don't really have anything else to say. I quite like the series, don't really see the point in hating a game of any sort.

What? Mario is going into SPACE?!?!? WTF Nintendo? The Mario franchise has officially gone out of control!

Sorry, couldn't help myself. But really, a setting change means little if the overall feel and control of the game remain basically the same.

Also, I though Blops was better than CodMod2. The story was clumsy but clever at points, the multiplayer is fixed, and Modern warfare 2 was just stupid plotwise.
Yes, because MW2 so desperately wanted to be taken seriously. It's not like it was supposed to be, you know, FUN.

Also, I like both MW2 AND Blops. They aren't the best games ever, but they don't have to be. They're just fun, plain and simple. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Personally, I only played MP in MW2 and Blops, and I HATED MW2. Blops was awesome, not the best, but much better than MW2. As for where the Frnchise is going... fuck if I know... I just think they need to lay off the yearly release.

"I personally think CoD is the best series ever. It's even better than Mass Effect and Fallout, which are overblown and overhyped games. If you're a fanboy of those games, don't hate, it's only an opinion." /satirical post

Could be worse, Battlefield went futuristic and then went back to a modern setting and still did well. I personally enjoyed most of the CoD games except for MW2, being broken as hell in terms of balance and being a terrible port to PC.

I'm not gonna lie, I'd like to see a COD: Spacecapades. It would be a nice change of scenery, and some interesting additions could be made. I enjoy the COD series. It's fun to play every now and then with some friends. It's not fantastic, and it's not god awful. If people enjoy playing them, what's the problem?

I reckon CoD has gone somewhat out of control; it basically has the same amount of followers that WoW has and they are pumping one out every year for every console. I dunno, to me that's really going nuts, because to me it's really just a palette swap and a somewhat altered script everytime.

Then again, I hate FPS' and can't really play online multiplayer (Only FPS' I've liked are the Darkness, Resistance to a point, Fallout 3 and NV (though they're more RPG's in my opinion) and Darkwatch)

I see that this is indeed a big topic and if I did offend I say sorry. It was just an opinion coming from a video game reviewer (myself). As to Toon Link post about my post. I can see what you did there don't buy the game, well you see it's kinda my job to buy video games I both love (Mass Effect) and games I hate (Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe). I can agree with a lot of the valid points about how the multilayer is fun, I also love Call of Duty (when Infinity Ward makes them) I agree when a studio takes the time to throughly look at project and they make it better than anyone else it is indeed it can be a very good game. But I hate Trey-Arch. Not as a studio, it's just I think they should actually make their own original game instead of making a Call of Duty game because Activision has to have a Call of Duty come out every year forcing us, in the long run, to spend $60 a year on the same exact thing!

I like black ops but I know this isn't the end of the franchise by a long shot, it will just keep going till people are rioting throught the streets begging for it to end.

So I'm just enjoying these but not keeping them cose to heart.

OT: I like the COD series but I think it gets special treatment when it comes to reviews and how people like it. Both MW2 and Black Ops got nearly perfect scores and I don't really know why. They seemed like the same game with a new paintjob.
Yeah, according to IGN, apparently one of the co-developers of Modern Warfare 3, Is also working on a Call of Duty: In Space for 2012-2014. If you can't picture it think of Halo but with less story, more gunfights with no meaning, and in 3D and that is pretty much it.

Honestly, where else does this burnt out series have left to go? They've already covered every era that there is for shooter games. Unless they feel like going back to muskets with a 30 second reload between shots. The only direction to go is outer space and alien weapons.

But hey, why are we arguing? We all know they could take a shit in a box and people would still pay $60 for it.

Considering multiplayer is the main focus of Call of Duty series, it might have a bigger effect on multiplayer than single-player. Of course, that's assuming they will introduce any kind of new gameplay mechanics to go with the new setting.

I'm more of the opinion that both Treyarch and Infinity Ward have to be a little more...how do I put this...culturally sensitive towards the Russians after Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2. Now, I'm not calling for extreme political correctness or anything, but come on, at least give them decent motivation, not the American jingoistic "They're Russian so they're naturally evil' logic. World at War at least didn't go out of its way to demonize Russians, but then again they have the Germans and Japanese, who they demonized the hell out of. Just once I'll like to see an American soldier kill a POW, or take a piece of the enemy as a souvenir, or something along those lines (especially considering they actually did that in World War 2, despite orders from command to stop).
