It's worth $10, but it's still thoroughly broken as well. Oh sure, it works fine for the first 50 hours or so. The further you get into the game, the more broken it becomes. And of course results vary. Some people claim to have few problems even after 100 hours, others experience very frequent crashes after only 50.

They have a bad reputation along with bethesda for releasing buggy games, but it's only because they're so much more complex than other developers make. If they were making a primitive linear game like half-life I'm sure they could do it with less bugs. But in a game with thousands of characters and fully modelled inventory items that can all be visible at a time, as well as the number of quest paths and choices, it's difficult to remain bug free without spending years in Q&A when it's just easier to release the game with some minorly inconvenient bugs and patch them as they're discovered.
Except that New Vegas was far, far, FAR buggier and broken than Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim. So the problem is Obsidian. They're a shit developer, and god help anyone who's looking forward to the South Park RPG.
