hey everyone i need some advice. I saw fallout nv being sold for only 10$, and I was getting ready to buy until i remembered that a good friend of mine got it when it was released and hated it. He claimed it had so many bugs that he just stopped playing and traded it in. Even Yahtzee mentioned the bugs in his review. So my question is did they manage to fix all the major problems or is it not worth my money.

I've played it for 40 hours this month and had nothing gamebreaking at all. I remember about 2 clipping issues with enemies stuck in a table, and a few crashes on loading screens after long periods of play but it always saved at the time it happened so I never lost any time whatsoever.

That's the PC version with a few mods installed.

Very much worth $10.

Anything that hasn't been officially patched by now has almost certainly been UNofficially patched by the mod community. I say go for it... especially if you're getting it for PC. Even if you're not, it's still much less buggy now.

I've been playing it since release, on the PS3 mind you, and I have never had any game breaking bugs short of freezing.

Plus if you're getting it on PC then there are unofficial patches anyway.

PC version again and it was solid, more so than Fallout 3. Very very good game as well though I'd recommend the Project Nevada mod.

Absolutely it is worth $10. It's worth $100! I played it on ps3 at release and only got a few crashes and some slow downs in 100 hours. They have a bad reputation along with bethesda for releasing buggy games, but it's only because they're so much more complex than other developers make. If they were making a primitive linear game like half-life I'm sure they could do it with less bugs. But in a game with thousands of characters and fully modelled inventory items that can all be visible at a time, as well as the number of quest paths and choices, it's difficult to remain bug free without spending years in Q&A when it's just easier to release the game with some minorly inconvenient bugs and patch them as they're discovered.

The game is awesome and I love it. Definetely worth 10 bucks. I mean sure you might see the occasional bark scorpion clippling hilariously into the ground and sometimes you might just randomly crash to desktop but It's really fun and I have personally spent well over 150 hours playing it. As far as DLC is concerned, Old World Blues is easily the best. The others are all at least good but I highly reccomend that one.

It's worth $10, but it's still thoroughly broken as well. Oh sure, it works fine for the first 50 hours or so. The further you get into the game, the more broken it becomes. And of course results vary. Some people claim to have few problems even after 100 hours, others experience very frequent crashes after only 50.

Except that New Vegas was far, far, FAR buggier and broken than Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim. So the problem is Obsidian. They're a shit developer, and god help anyone who's looking forward to the South Park RPG.

I never had any game-breaking bugs in my run of F:NV, bugs get patched pretty quick after release, and it's quite an old game.

Well yes it's buggy as hell, but most of the big issues were fixed sofar so at $10 it's a steal, now go have fun.

Even with all the bugs it was 100% worth it. Some are fixed now, likely not all. You should really buy it.

I never experienced any bugs personally. Buy the game but I wouldn't recommend the DLC though, waste of money in my opinion.
