I had sort of heard of mass effect but never really wanted to play it. then I heard this:

and I thought "wow that was pretty epic. Now I want to play this." Now it is my favorite music from a game I've never played. Someday hopefully I will. Anyways, have you ever heard music from a game that you never heard before that made you want to play it?

Still Alive inspired me to play Portal again. Wait, bad example.

Die, ************, Die by Dope made me play Doom again. While blasting that song. Good times.

Any trailer/advertisement with good music will have me asking myself "Should I get that game?"

This is one that really worked for me:

EDIT: Any music actually coming from a game has never really inspired me to play it.

Hearing songs from San Andreas or Fallout 3, make me want to pop the game in the tray.
I also remember trying to decide between buying Hexen and Dark Forces. Went with Dark Forces for the soundtrack. I also think the soundtrack had something to do with me picking up Crazy Taxi.

Sort of. I was on the fence about Borderlands, but then somebody showed me the intro trailer, and I decided to get it, mostly based on the music. Now, I don't actually really like Cage the Elephant much, but the big hit they had that's used in this trailer, it's just so fucking catchy!

I watched the intro so much that I had to get it.

OT: Ehh. I associate music through games with repetition. Like, for some bizarre reason when I was younger, I'd always listen to Queen while playing Fallout 2. So those two are now forever interlinked.

When I heard Still Alive at the end of Portal, I wanted to play through the game again.

Whenever I hear any song from Fallout 3, I want to go shoot some Super Mutants with a rifle.

Whenever I hear Gone Guru by Lifeseeker, I want to go run around yelling "FOLLOW ME! COME ON!" while confused survivors run around being chased by zombies and convicts in a military vehicle.

Sorry, bit of a obvious one.
I never played Morrowind (did play Oblivion to bits, never finished it though) but damn that music does want to make me play that game.

Hell March, and RA2's music in general, did that as well for me. And listening to WoW's soundtrack on youtube always makes me long back for that game...

Then there's this song:
That makes me want to play Painkiller and L4D2. The latter with an infinite horde of zombies, game on Easy, wielding a guitar and pump action shotgun. I swear it doesn't get more metal than that.

This song also makes me want to play any game with a good amount of violence:

This is exactly what I've done today, listened to the song for the past week, its so damn catchy and I've actually learnt how to play it
Didn't think I'd like Cage the Elephant but they're alright.
