Splinter was a pretty good movie, it had surprisingly good production values, and the monsters in it are some of the freakiest things I've ever seen.

The Boondock Saints 1 essentially went straight to video. It had a very limited release to theaters.

Oh yeah! Forgot to add in Advent Children (The blu-ray release, which has 23 minutes of added footage, is just SO much better, though!) and Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

Some of the Dead Gentlemen stuff is straight to DVD, and they're stuff is great if you're part of the subculture it's aimed at.

The only two that I can think of at the moment would be Transsiberian and In The Electric Mist.

They're pretty good by direct to dvd standards. They're not re-inventing the wheel or anything, but you could do worse.

Was the sonic movie released straight to vhs / dvd? The OVA? With metal sonic?

In other news im hopeful for the professor layton movie. The cutscenes n the games kick so much more ass when you realise that this is a regular guy. No training in pretty much anything other than being an archaeologist and lots of practice in solving puzzles.
Also a sweet hat.

Yeah, the sequel was straight to DVD here (in the UK) too.

1st one was really good, second one was definitely watchable and good fun but even sillier than the 1st.

I thought Gentlemen Broncos was pretty good. All the crap you have to watch to see parts of the book are worth it.

Dead Snow (Dutch Film)
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete (Blu-Ray Edition)
Zombies of Mass Destruction
Dance of the Dead
