Has this ever Happened to anyone else?

I type a post into some thread and I'm proud of it. It blends wit, referential humor, helpful advice, and my own personal touch, no doubt its going to be quoted and praised. So I wait at the front page, refreshing for messages. Maybe I know its controversial and I know people are going to reply, either way its all just for me to see that i have a lot of messages.

Sometimes I go for a long time and come back expecting to see a bunch of messages for my amazing post. This type of behaviour can be linked back to myspace but I haven't been to that site. Making me think this is a symptom of an airborne virus.

AAAANYWAYS tl;dr do you find yourself whoring for messages just to see the red text?

No. I'm used to threads pretty much dying straight away after I post in them. I'm fine with that as I have a lot of things to do other than get into some weird running discussion about something random.

I'm actually the opposite because if someone is quoting me, odds are they are trying to call out my opinion and tell me why I'm an idiot or why I'm wrong. Honestly though, if you're looking to be praised for your thoughts on the internet, you might be at the wrong place.

I don't do that but I always check that little message bar up in the corner before I do anything else on that page. Just habit, I think.

There are times where I hope someone will acknowledge my post and quote it, but it doesn't bother me too much. Not to say I don't get a little excited when I see i have a quote notification.

Now imagine me with a gorilla laugh as I comment on your use of "u" in "behaviour"...

I have been tl;dr'd many times and I have to say that no comments are better than only tl;dr. With no comments, I can at least imagine that my peers think I'm trite and not funny, thus awarding me no feedback. But when someone says tl;dr even THAT fantasy is blown away to be replaced with the cold hard truth that I'm surrounded by lazy people who would only communicate by lolcat pictures if they could.

...I also like to imagine that people laugh themselves to death... thus awarding me no feedback...
