Maybe there will be a patch for DA2 aswell as for ME2 then...stupid tiny text there aswell.
Even after the patch I wish the text was larger in ME2.

OT: And yes, it's annoying to make everything for HDTV...I have a old 32" "box" tv, not a flatscreen...works like a charm.

What can I say, SDTV is slowly going the way of the dodo. It's rather unfortunate for you that we're now in a transitional situation; HDTV's are not yet completely standard, but SDTV is getting phased very quickly.

You can't expect older tech to last forever. At least you can look forward to contuining dropping prices for HDTV's. Well, they have been dropping steadily for a while now. My 32" Full HDTV was a steal. These days you can get the same kind of TV for 150 euros less, and one that's 8 inches bigger with a lot more fancy things (my TV is incredibly barebones) for the same price.

Well, here's the problem: Do they MAKE SDTVs anymore? I'm pretty sure they don't. You might as well complain about the lack of any recent movies coming out on VHS.

Still, I agree that they probably shouldn't be making text THAT small. There's plenty of space on the screen, devs, I promise.

I'll change the title. I don't know, I have a TV that is only 3 years old. My budget barely allows for new games.

Umm... no.

There really isn't much of a 'rest of us.' You are the one that needs to adapt, not the game developers. They are doing just fine. At least you still have the Wii.

Judging by the early responses I'd say I need to watch the market for TVs more. XD
Looks like I now have to save up for something else.
Edit: 250-350$? Sigh....no more new games for me for quite a while.

Has this colour TV thing gotten out of hand?

So, I bought a video player day one. I was really excited to watch movies on it. Once I loaded up a video, however, I saw an immediate problem. The colours were awful, really awful. It is the worst I've ever seen in a movie. This, combined with the movies being in cinemascope, has severely hampered my ability to enjoy the medium, let alone get immersed into it. Don't get me started on trying to read the subtitles when watching a foreign film.

I don't have a colour TV. I don't see why I should be forced to get one. Why can't directors have a option for black and white TV users to turn on that would sharpen? I feel like I'm getting the middle finger.

Has this bugged anyone else? Do you think it is reasonable for directors to make a movie for colour TVs without a thought to the rest of us?

I am with the others here that well yeah it is kinda the times. I know I know if you have an SD television that sucks but not every game developer is going to add functions that allow their games to also be very good playable on SD.

Because it probably isn't that simple and lets be fair yes they could do it but it costs them money. Money makes the world go round!

I love my SD television but hey for HD games I yes have a HD television. It shouldn't be to hard to find a simple HD screen somewhere you can even use your pc's TFT! Yes you hear that good you can use a simple PC TFT screen to game on using a PS3/Xbox360/PC :)

Gotta stick with the times. After all, surely you would eventually have to upgrade, theres only so far you can go on old technology. If an SD TV was used for a PS2, then surely in getting a PS3 the TV should be upgraded too?
Can expect old tech to keep on doing its job whilst the devices you plug into it get smarter and smarter.
Makes sense to me...

Simply put, you're lagging behind in technology. Why bother catering to Standard Definition televisions when HD is becoming so popular? It would just cost extra money for the developer, and the developer doesn't care much about you.

Technology has gotten to a point where HD is starting to become the standard, which means SD users are out of luck. Is it fair? No, probably not, but that's how it goes.

and while playing on HD looks better, i cant help but feel the SD games feel tighter.
a regular sized SD tv is much easier (for me at least) to play on.. i cant explain it, it just feels better.

Meh HDTV is not expensive nowdays, and remember not to throw out your SDTV but use it for something fun. I hanged mine in the Bathroom to make it look more futuristic.

Or mod it into one of those BioShock screens! They look so awesome.
