I'm gonna help out the OP and say that I agree with you. Small text is inexcusable. And sure HD is extremely popular, but it is still fairly new. HD should be more important, but not entirely exclusive. And remember that most people don't realise they don't have real HD, a TV is not anough. I'm sure there's at least one poster in this thread that falsely beleive that they have HD.

Guys, stop trolling the poor guy.
I think that it shouldn't really be that hard for developers to increase the text size when a lower resolution is detected.
And you can't expect everyone to have an HDTV - many people still don't because it is not within their budget or power to get one.
Yes, most people have them, but there is probably still a large percentage that doesn't.
I never thought to ask but for some reason im assuming the OP is in America.

Anyway I just looked on wallmart and you can get a 22inch HDTV for 170 dollers. And a 32 inch for 270. They are really really cheap now. Its not like before when they cost thousands. My family isnt exactly rich and we have like 6 flat pannel tvs in the house.
the thing is that not everyone can afford to spend the equivilant of their food budget on a tv when they already have a working one...
HD and now 3D is all just a con...
is the Godfather a better film now you can see it in HD...No
is Goldeneye a better game...NO

now that nearly everyone has HD tvs there trying to get you to spend another £1000 on a 3d one...and once all the people who actually believe what the idiot box says all have 3d tvs the'l make another "giant" step forward in an effort to improve our viewing pleasure and increase their profit margins...

WAKE UP

I know that the OP wants this to be ignored, but I feel the need to mention one thing.

HD TVs have been around since the inception of television sets. Any noticeable advancement in the technology--increased resolution, color, whatever--has been billed as being "HD," and you can thank marketing people for that. So it's not going to end, ever, and today's HD TVs will be tomorrow's SD TVs.
