I do on occasion rock a trilby. But only if its appropriate with what I'm wearing.

Seriously the hat really only looks good if your are looking dressed up. Otherwise there isn't much point to this kind of hat.
That's pretty much how I feel about the hat I showed in the OP. Works with my button downs, but I'm not gonna wear it if I'm just walking around in a T-shirt.

With the arrival of my latest and greatest hat, I thought I'd made a thread for all the hat lovers of the Escapist. What's your favorite type of hat? What hat(s) do you most frequently wear?

Please excuse the posed picture. They suck, but it's all I can do in a short time.
Sweet hat, but beard up my man, will make you look 5% more badass

OT: I used to wear military style caps a lot, but now days I'm more of a beanie kind of guy
I'll be going for Movember this year (full on beard, not just a 'tache)

Usually without the red ribbon, though.

I love hats, they (and shoes) are the only pieces of clothing I spend money on. I want both to be good quality and comfortable.

This is the hat I wear through most of the year. I also have few summer hats, a greyish straw hat, and now this:

I bought it for myself for Christmas, because one of the straws broke and started to poke my hair on my old hat.

I also have a black woollen women's hat I wear for winter. It's warm, and I love how you can flip part of it to cover your ears if you need to.

I also have a fancy top-hat, but it's kinda uncomfortable, so it's only for special occasions.

Considering a WW2 US Army helmet for a hat. Both for badassity and practicality. Cant work out if there is any sort of cultural association with wearing one though, as fashion is chief amongst my no-go areas.
Are you planning to wear it daily? I mean, they don't seem all that comfortable. Unless you're planning to use it because you need a helmet of some kind for head-protection...

I love hats but because it flattens my hair, I never wear them.

Also, ever since I stopped wearing glasses, anything on my head gives me a headache.

I... don't wear any hats. I want to try a trilby (If that's the one with the triangle-ish depression on the top) but I am scared I will look stupid in it.

If the rest of your clothes are sufficiently classy, it shouldn't look too bad. In other words, don't wear it with a hoodie or a t-shirt or something. You can get some fairly nice trilbies for just a few pounds/dollars, so it'll be no major loss if it doesn't work out.

I have yet to wear the hat I showed in the OP to college, but will be doing that tomorrow. The difference being that hat wasn't cheap! xD

So many fedoras on the escapist geez. I kind of assumed most people don't wear hats unless there is adverse weather.

I have a Trilby, though these days my hair is kind of a mess, so until I get it sorted out I probably won't be sporting it any time soon. Though even then I only really wear it if I'm going out for some kind of occasion/party/dinner/get together/whatever and I like to wear it with a suit jacket which I think makes for a nice smart-casual look.

I have a lot of hats, and I dislike how hat wearing as become a contemptible affect by most standards. Especially trilbies. Listen sonny, if you're going to wear a trilby, wear a corresponding outfit (like a fucking suit or black coat or something). My favourite - which I've never actually had a reason to wear, would be my pith helmet.

My favourite is probably the Australian WW2 bush hat my Dad sometimes wears. No camera, but here's another one that looks a lot like it:

It's such a comfortable, soft and bendy hat.

My second-favourite piece of headgear is a Viet Minh tunnel fighter's helmet. Something very NCR about the shape, no?

Well I have an Indiana Jones style Fedora I wear with my brown aviator style jacket. Looks bad-ass. Can't really wear it during the summer months though, nothing really fits with it. Too bad too, I love that hat.

Yeah, the one I put in the OP counts as a bush hat apparently.

Fucking love it :D

I don't wear 'hats', but I do wear 'bandanas' (with all of the hair tucked up inside) or hair coverings. I even wear tichels on occasion. I have long bushy hair and I've found the best way to keep it out of my way during chores, cooking, and yard-work is to pin it up or braid it up, and then wear a bandana or hair covering because it tends to keep everything in place and/or steady. I even like to wear them during the day when I don't have any chores to do, as well as out and about (though I get looks). I just like 'em.

Yay for stock photos!

I don't have my hat yet.

It's still on TehCookie's head but it will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine.
Waynes world, nice. I do that everytime I see a Mazda MX5. And I do it out loud regardless of weather I'm alone or in company.
Some of the lines in that film simply have to be used.

Much like the "we're not worthy" on the knees bow I used on my wife in the middle of town just for giggles.

I have a loyal flatcap and a beanie, would buy a Bowler hat as well if I had money.
Bowler hats were invented as a tax dodge.

When England had unregulated taxation, there were some pretty bullshit taxes. You could be taxed for how many rooms or windows you had in a house. There was even a roof tax.

There was also a tax for the height of one's top hat. But by being compact, with a rounded crown, the bowler hat avoided this.

I just want one so me and my droogies can go for a spot of the ol' Ultraviolence and to listen to Ludwig Van with its placement on my gulliver.

Translation: "I want one because of A Clockwork Orange"
