I wouldn't say any made me feel sad. I felt strong emotions after Mass Effect, but it didn't make me cry.
That and the sequel, and I felt a bit after the ending of Dragon Age:Origins too, mostly cuz morrigan left. but nothing has ever made me cry. Not the dog dying in Fable 2, Dad dying in Fallout 3, or anything. Fallout 3 would have been a bit more dificult in the original ending if they hadnt kept telling me my character was "misguided". No I was not misguided. I knew exactly what I was doing, why I was doing it, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Shut up, narrator man.

No, because you see, video game music tends to suck.
I TAKE OFFENSE and direct you to the Silent Hill 2 and 3 OST, found anywhere on Youtube.

"Tends to" not "always"

There are notable exceptions, such as the ending theme to Mass Effect, the Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker opening theme etc...

Nothing in any medium has made me openly weep. A few movies get me very teary eyed, but thats the length of it.

Of course. Quite a few of them still do, based on emotional context.

They probably won't do the same to someone who hasn't played the games in question, but they still make me cry all the same.

Then again, some just make me tear up for other reasons.

Yeah, I've gotten pretty emotional hearing the song "To Zanarkand" from Final Fantasy X. I consider it the game's theme anyway.

I haven't even played the game. And yet, when I first heard the song played in concert, with full orchestration, I honestly started crying. It probably helped that the only FF music I'd heard before that night was One-Winged Angel, and Liberi Fatali as the opening piece softened me up, but...

I attribute it to the exceptions siphoning away all of the beauty. I shudder to think of how many up-and-coming composers had their souls drained away to support the talents of Nobuo Uematsu and Matoi Sakuraba alone.

Well i don't know about Opening themes but....

the Credits theme for Fire Emblem
Makes me cry....im tearing up right now just thinking about it.

After spending hours on the game, making it through some frustrating parts, falling in love with the story and characters, and going through an emotional final battle....it was a fitting song.

At 2:58 is where the tears really start to flow.
Its such a Peaceful and sad melody...
That coupled with the fact that i didn't want the game to end and a few of my favorite characters got some less than happy endings...
Canas..
;_;
Make this one song that will make me, at the very least, tear up.
Sigh...i need to get an SP so i can play Fire Emblem again.

the opening theme to ME1 always makes me very mellow.

thats as close to "openly weeping" that i get from game music.
