Uncharted 2 is, for me, a good example of having an opening that draws you in. When I played it, I was completely immersed, and desperate to play more, a feeling that has not reached me since Metal Gear Solid 4. What games have you played, that have drawn you in from the beginning?

Borderlands.

The camera angles, the style, the music, everything makes it look like a Quentin Tarantino flick.

Also GTA IV. I have shivers down my spine every time I watch the opening. Especially when the logo appears - pure brilliance. One of the best themes in gaming history.

The start of any of the Half-Life games are excellent examples of how to draw your player in.

Wasnt really the games opening, but the video intro on FF8 drew me in massively, the music, the scenes, the weapon, cool stuff

I really liked the opening to Bioshock... Unfortunately the rest of the game didn't live up to my expectations.

Can you say Left 4 Dead?
I know there wasn't a lot of story to follow, but it was a pretty nifty intro.

Mass Effect. The way the camera follows your character as he/she walks through the ship, everyone reacting to his/her presence, the music, and atmosphere just felt so real. One of the best I've seen

The fallout 3 intro was so thought out I even considered recording it, writing a commentary about it, then giving it to my English or arts history teacher for judgment (could still do that, mmmmm...)

Borderlands, Bioshock, ODST, Mass Effect, KOTOR... Too many to name :).

EDIT: I also thought the Saints Row 2 Opening / tutorial level was well done.
