Have you actually tried FarmVille?

With the amount of hate this game gets from this forum, and what the hate is based on, it's really obvious that about half of the haters of FarmVille from this site haven't actually played the game and base their opinions as a mix of other peoples' and screenshots. I decided to give it a go on my fairly unused Facebook account, played it for about a week, and gave up yesterday. FarmVille wasn't actually as bad as it's been made out to be. I can see the appeal, but do you guys think that peoples' judgement of FarmVille (and similar games) is dropping?

My judgement of it is certainly going nowhere.

I've never tried Farmville because I have no interest in farming in general and, dislike RTS games [which is what Farmville looks like anyway] I also have no friends so, my farm would likely suffer as though every day is an August drought. I also fear I may like and become addicted to it which is the same reason I have yet to attempt smoking or any other recreational drug [other than caffeine]

I've played it, I can't say it's anything special. It bombards you to send your friends useless messages and it's just a waste of time.

No I haven't for one simple reason. I am not getting a facebook account. Thus I will probably never play Farmville. That and I have no desire to waste my time on it when there are plenty of other games to waste my time on.

Yes - It lasted me 30 minutes. I gave it a chance to improve. It didnt. I get that some casuals would like it though.

It's in the vein of games that are nothing but calculators with a pretty face.
Like most social networking site games it seems.

I played it for a little while when I lived at my ex's house, everyone there was friggen obsessed with it. It sucks. hard.

Played it on facebook and have to say it sucks arse yer i want to plant a potato then wait 2 days to pick it WTF?? might as well grow real ones

I have not tried it, but seen someone play it for extended periods of time. What a useless waste of time.

I'm not sure which is worse though, Farmville or Ebony (or whatever that AoE clone with softporn ads is called).

i played it for about 15 mins, but then, i couldn't be bothered with it anymore. in my own opinion, i would much rather be playing other games.

Played it on a relatives account, 15 minutes in i stopped. I then went to my old Gameboy Advanced to load up Harvest Moon which was more fun.
