Anyway, yeah. Have you been hacked before? I say this because my WoW account recently (Today) got hacked. Every single one of my characters, including my main, which I'd poured months of total time into, got deleted.

So, Escapists (And escapettes) Have you ever had your account hacked?

Sorry, that really sucks. Did you try to open a ticket? GMs are usually really good about giving you your stuff and characters back after being hacked.

Personally, I've never been hacked when I still played MMOs.

Not to my knowledge. I may have had my Runescape account hacked a few times while I was still playing it, but i'm not sure.

My WoW account got hacked and I lost all my Tier 10 and raid stuf across 3 characters and a total of about 25k gold. Got it all back in the same day though.

Yea and weirdly enough it was my email account, they just sent a bunch of links to Canadian health care crap and annoyed all my contacts, had to change my password and up my security after that, I honestly didn't know spammers would do something that retarded.

Never. I had a scare once, though, when one of my EVE Online accounts were showing up as 'online' when I didn't have it logged in.

Turns out it was a glitch, but I still changed my passwords to be sure.

I remember an MMORPG back then where you could bring your characters back if they are deleted. Only lasts a week though.

I have passwords of decent strength and I am not stupid enough to hand them out to people.

Then again... I do a few things personally that make it a little difficult for a hacker to get into my account.

"Hacked" = someone guessing your password

In wow, they'd have to guess both your username and password, so that may get a little difficult. It's more likely a keylogger or Trojan downloaded onto your computer.

I've never been hacked before, but I remember someone trying to get me to type out my password in Runescape.

"Look, you can type in your password and it'll censor it!"

If having a little fight to delete each others files at a LAN counts then yes, kind of. But it was in jest and we all knew it was happening (after the first anyway).

We only targeted game saves though, and porn implants with normal file names so that they wouldn't find them for ages, although thinking about it that was more of a present.

Never had an online account taken from my control.

I had my Neopets account hacked way back in the day.

What's weird is, they didn't really take anything. All my Neopoints were still in the bank. All my items were still there, but taken out of my safety deposit box and left in my inventory.

But I discovered that my prized Checkered Lupe was missing, and I never heard from him again. Made me a sad, sad little boy.

Yes. In a MMO. Got hacked and lost all my money, but then I talked to the GMs and they told me the name of the person who entered my account. He was actually a friend of mine. I kicked his ass so much that day...
