After killing the super sniping Nazi in vendetta and ding again and again in the rest of the mission I said fuck it and stopped bothering. No trophy is worth going through that, I could just imagine what the last level would have been like.
The last level isn't too bad to be honest... there's a tricky bit at the start getting into the Reichstag but after that if you're patient and know what you're doing it's a breeze. The level just before it however, "Heart of the Reich" I think it was called, was the single most frustrating experience of my gaming career to date.
The trick that works for me on veteran is to stay reasonably behind your squad, keep to cover and take out enemies at range. You wont have to deal with too many grenades and eventually the spawns will start slowing down to the point where you can move forward to advance your allies and move on, or the spawns will stop entirely and your friends will advance on their own... bringing on the next set of spawns.
This doesn't happen in Heart of the Reich though, once you've destroyed the first two flak cannons you reach a point where you need to get to the other two cannons but the Germans will never stop coming at you, no matter how many of them you put down. The Russians with you are useless and you have an odd magnetic power over grenades whenever you get close. After about three hours just on this single checkpoint I got through it by killing a few, moving to a new cover, waiting for the 5-9 grenades to fall on me and just moving again. Once you get past this point though and stop the spawns, you still need to blow up the two remaining guarded cannons before you get the next checkpoint, meaning if you fail here you have to run it all again.
I like my platinum trophy but if you're having this much trouble over the earlier levels, do yourself a favour and try Heart of the Reich on veteran from the mission select. You might save yourself a lot of trouble.
