Have you ever beaten a game without dying once... on the first try?

DoW 2 Retribution. It was... Easy, very, very easy with the wargear. I just sent my heroes without units, then only 2 heroes, then went through the last few missions with only one hero. Was on normal difficulty.

Devil May Cry 3 and Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time. Devil May Cry 3 was played on the easiest difficulty which ended up being far too easy. It was still a lot of fun but I probably should've played it on the normal difficulty. I didn't die in Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time because I made sure to train constantly throughout the game, even then it was still a challenge.

You freaked me out with the first line there... then I read the easy difficulty. DMC3 is damn hard.

Yeah. Devil May Cry 3 is borderline impossible on the hardest difficulty. I can't think of a harder challenge.

Try DMC1... That was just trolling the player.

If it's not a game where you "die", feel free to substitute the equivalent losing condition, e.g. failing an objective or losing a race.

I've never once lost on NHL 11...

Other than that, I'm utterly terrible at all games, and tend to die often.

I ask because I just did this in Bastion, and off the top of my head that's never happened to me before. Strangely though, the game didn't "feel" easy... it wasn't like I could stop paying attention and still be fine, or anything like that. It had me fearing death and still had some tense moments, but it never quite got the best of me.

Oddly enough, I came in here to say Bastion. Same overall feeling, never felt too easy, but was never quite killed off. I have had this happen in other games, but it's not a common occurrence for sure.

Fable 2 and Okami.

In the Silent Hunter 3 campaign, I play "dead is dead" style, meaning that if you die once in the campaign, you have failed the entire campaign forever, no matter how many hours worth of patrols or missions you did. As such, I eventually managed to make it all the way to the end of the war without dying, just not on the first attempt.

Silent Hill 1, I would say Silent Hill 2 or 3 but I've never gone through without dying on the first try.
Oh and that shitty sequel, Homecoming.

Hmmm, well I didn't die once in DA: Awakening, which was technically an expansion, I think. I died any number of times in the main game and its sequel.

Not since Pokemon Yellow have I lost a battle, unless you count Shoddy Battle. Those people are nuts.

...Sometimes. And other times, they have no idea. I like those battles.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I don't recall whether or not I actually DIED...but even so, it's the closest I've ever come.

And PH WAS pretty easy. Too easy for my tastes. But it's still a fun game.

And for the record, yes, I DO enjoy the Temple of the Ocean King. I'm just weird like that.

Well there are a couple I have gotten through without failing but I find it a bit hard to recall which exactly.

I know I got through House of the Dead III, but that isn't saying much...
I think I got through to the end of Final Fantasy VI without dying, although when I later went to fight the Weapons I got my ass handed to me.

Currently, I am playing a bit of New Vegas. I have yet to die and am very close to the end now...
