I'm a big JRPG fan, so over the years I have caught flak for some of the ones I play. I can recall certain games and instances where friends made fun of me and I found it amusing. Their loss I guess. But here we go:

Disgaea - "dis-gay-uh"
La Pucelle Tactics - "your teddy bear just leveled up"
Atelier Rorona - "when did you start liking dicks?"
Lunar Silver Star Story - "you are a pussy"
Arc the Lad - "arc the fag"

Yeah when I fist signed up to EVE Online a few weeks ago atleast five of my friends instantly labled me "A MMO Nerd" and decided that EVE was simply a WOW clone.

I just pity those people for being so desperate to mix into the "cool" society that they mindlessly mock people who do "nerdy" shit.

I LARP, play warhammer tabletop and a host of videogames both MMO and Not so.
Most of the people I hang out with do it too or if they make fun of it, do it in a non offensive way. When people get offensive I show them what it means to actually offend someone and they soon shut up or cry.

Win win for me. They underestimate just how bad people in our category can be for ruthlessly cutting someones self esteem down.
