Have you ever been made fun of for the games you like?

Not necessarily, me and a friend were talking about games and I said:

"I don't understand why you'd want to play as that walking-refrigerator Master Chief" (Halo)

To which he responded:

"Why would you want to have sex with aliens in spandex?" (Mass Effect)

There was much laughter after that.

In college - surprisingly enough nobody made fun of my taste in games because I hang out with nerds and geeks.

However, I've made fun of one who played Deus Ex. Not because he played it, but because of how he prounounced it.

Did he pronounce it "jew sex" by any chance? Hahaha, that's what I thought it was called at first.

OT: Never for any game in particular, more for playing games in general. The mentality of games being for kids still exists, no matter how obsolete.

I lot of people make fun of me for playing Madden. I buy it every year, I love that shit. Plus, the people are mainly the ones who don't play games at all, or if they do, it's trash like COD.

Nope, I quite openly play 4X games, RTS games, Warhammer 40K, Magic: The Gathering and D&D and no one says a word. Well, the odd little joke from one guy to another but nothing nasty.

At least the first three, same here. Any tips on playing D&D for the first time? A few of my nerdier friends and I want to try it.

One is TF2, because of course people slander it for not being realistic.

Two is Minecraft, because everyone whom I've told it is adamant it's just a Runescape/WoW clone, even though I tell them it's a sandbox FPS.

So that means I have no life, drown myself in Mountain Dew and don't know what REAL games are.
While in reality, I have a perfectly fine life, don't even know what Mountain Dew is (non-American here) and have a impressive little library of otherwise awesome games besides WoW.

La Pucelle Tactics - "your teddy bear just leveled up"
Atelier Rorona - "when did you start liking dicks?"
Lunar Silver Star Story - "you are a pussy"
Arc the Lad - "arc the fag"

How dare ANYONE make fun of Disgaea, La Pucelle Tactics and Atelier Rorona. I love those games, but I had my friends say Disgaea is a pedobear game cause the hero's look like kids yet dress skimpy.

Only time I can think of is when I said my favorite game was Kingdom Hearts II, they hadn't heard of it so I described it to them as "Cross over of Final Fantasy and Disney, sounds like the worst idea ever, but honestly is a great game." They went on to say that was retarded and I shouldn't play it, then continued on about how Modern Warfare 2 is the greatest thing ever.
