I've been both. I bought Rogue Galaxy and Mana Kahemia at a local PlaynTrade and loved both the games and played them to the end. I also unfortunately bought Ephemeral Phantasia and Unlimited Saga the worst games I've ever played. From what I can tell the first game is a bard with a talking guitar? (string instrument of some kind)trying to write a song for a king and his queen and playing it via guitar hero but minus the fun or directions and then you walk around lost in a city until you become bored and take the disc back to the store. Imagine playing monoply and every other time you roll the dice you either land on someone else's property with a hotel, go to jail space, or chance card that makes you pay money. Unlimited Saga is not nearly that much fun.

One of the shops I went to had a import game call "Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation". I did do some quick research and I buy it. All I can say is the game is not user friendly! The game had a little tutorial and then throws you at the deep end. I got confuse already with the character training, mech upgrade and equipment. I was completely put off from the game.

I was given a strange little game by my granny, but it was rated 15, and my parents said I was not old enough to play it, so it got left on the shelf, until I came here about a year ago and saw all these threads on a game that sounded similar, so I hunted it out, and installed this game called 'Fallout' to have a go. IT WAS AWESOME, I'm still playing it.

I bought this one game called Ninja Blade without knowing anything about it, and my gosh, was it ever terrible. The enemies were stupid, the environments were bland, the bosses were annoying, the story was terrible... Yeah, it was just a bad game all 'round.

Yep, I bought Tales of Vesperia just on the cover alone. Wasn't sure if I'd like it or not but I was in an anime mood and had no anime. Absolutely do not regret the purchase, I've spent at least 100 hours playing it. Damnit, I need to fire it up and do another play-through now.

I play ToV for the story! I swear!

I bought the PSP remake of Disgaea on a whim. I hadn't played any NIS titles before, so it surprised me with how awesome it is.

On the negative side: I bought Pariah on a whim as well. That didn't go so well.

I brought Dragonage: Origins simply because my friend said "it looks cool" and then i noticed it said Bioware on the box... Still can't believe i let a Bioware game slip under the radar.

Worst game? Fucking Far Cry 2 for the shitty map system alone

That's how I stumbled upon Legend of Mana. My second favorite game of all time.

And SaGa Frontier.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Don't ever, ever remind me of that terrible game.

I bought it because I loved the PS1 SaGa games. What the fuck did they do to you, SaGa? WHAT THE FUCK?

I approve of this post. Speaking of NIS titles, I bought Atelier Rorona without any idea as to what it would be like. Really like it, its just got this charm to it that you don't get from most other games. I still haven't finished it yet thought, I need to get back to it.

Dark Void - Thought process went something like "Huh, this game looks like it could be fun" half an hour later "well..that was dull". Did not like it in the slightest.

On the flip side however is Oblivion, which I bought at the same time as Sonic and the Secret Rings (Put that on the same list as Dark void)

I didn't know anything about Oblivion other than it was an "open-world-swing-sword" type game. Many hours later I finally decided to complete the last of the story quests, and this was the 360 version.

Ninja'd on the first post.
Bought Rogue Galaxy for fun and turns out it was one of my favourite games for the PS2.

Dragon quest 9

All I got from the advertisements (yes those ones with jedwood and other X-factor people) was that the main character was customisable. That wasn't enough to make me buy it so I spent my money on other games I enjoyed, like Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and Spirit Tracks. Eventually I decided to buy it and I enjoyed it, one of my favourite JRPG's on the DS (Final fantasy didn't hold my attention for as long)
