My name in quite a lot of things is now VeryOddSomething, normally gamer.

So no, I haven't really changed my name in anything.

I changed my xbox live GamerTag quite a few times ^_^

I started with "Vgy71" (I was 10 and used it on runescape...and it's in a straight line across the keyboard, with exception of the "1")

Then changed it to "Custom Friend" (I outgrew Vgy71)

Then it became "an Anorexic Weasel" (I changed it because I wanted it to be one of the names that looked good on kill cam "you were killed by an Anorexic Weasel")

Then it became TheFunPolice (because I just thought it was hilarious) ^_^

And thats the story of my name!!!

I go and went by four names, my real one, William (not Will or Willy, and certainly not Bill or Billy).
My original username that I had and used as a kid, which was william124 (shockingly original).
My username that I picked up from an English teacher or mine when I was about 13-14, my current moniker of MrCollins.
And finally, my IRL nickname, roux, which is the french word for ginger.

I used william124 when I created my account here because at the time, I was using both, but changed it recently when I found out I could do that.

Yeah, i changed my name here from t3h br0th3r.

I came up with that name back in 2003 when i first learned l33t and thought it was the most awesomeist thing evar and thought I was the only black person on the internet. then I stopped being quite as dumb and made this shinny new account with a name thats a historical reference, but I'm still not in love with it, since either no one gets the reference or no one cares (more than likely the later).

Depends. Handle has been pretty static over the years but when I first started out I was "Jackal", then became "Fascination" for a long time then changed to "Fasckira" (taking Fasc from Fascination, what everyone called me anyway, and adding Kira as a Death Note reference).

Im not uncomfortable about people knowing my full name online, but I tend to dump phony names into sites that ask for a full name if I have no intention of sticking around. This is mainly because I dont want my name popping up next to that site on google searches; names like Ryan Cooper, Mitch Connor, Avatar McDohl, John Johnson, etc have all been used when required.

Dont think I'd ever change my real life name though, pretty comfortable with it.

I legally added a Japanese middle name. I love Japanese things, so I thought, "why not?"

I've been through so many online names it's not even funny. My main one I use is either Glaciatedhands or Magicalteapot. As for my IRL name, Online I tell people to call me either Lucas or Jay. Jay being my irl name, Lucas being a 'online persona' so to say. Generally when I say my name is Jay the usual thing people say is "Are you British?" which ends up to them asking to hear my voice which gets annoying. I feel that when I use Lucas, nobody really asks.

I've got lots of friends that call me "Infernal" online, even when they know my real name.

It used to be "dancing" but then they're calling me a verb. That annoyed me to no end. So now I shorten my name to either Dinfernal (unless I can claim Infernal) or just tell them to call me Infernal instead.

In real life, however, I sometimes go by the name Shaniqua.

I am completely serious.

I used to go by my real, full name here until I realized that was perhaps a bad idea. So I made myself a new account since I didn't know I could change my name. I much prefer this name anyways. It's nice.

More times than I care to remember.
I think this is my third registered username on the Escapist. I don't like it, but I'll probably stick with it for a couple hundred posts at least.

I changed my gamertag on Xbox Live. I preferred Ljs1121 to SwankierEar81. In fact, I had to prefer anything to SwankierEar81. How exactly is an ear swanky? But I digress.

I also tried to convince the mods on another forum to change my username there, but they didn't.

In real life, I've never changed my name.

As for IRL Daniel is a fucking STUPID name and I should change it to Max Powers or something. So bad. I would change it to something really gimmicky if I tried though... I'll change it to Ezreal! That's cool right?! Right guys?

[sub]Right?[/sub]
I LIKE Daniel! My hypothetical kid is called Daniel! (Along with Michael, Nathaniel, and a bunch of other names but I digress.)

OT. I've changed my online handle three times, trollnystan being the current one. I changed the SPELLING of my real name all offical like 'cos it'd been missing an letter since I was born and it was bugging me like mad.

1. they sell name changes on LOL? what in the world.......

I always use Strazdas. even on official places sometimes. Problem is, sometimes its taken, and i have to come up with something else. soemtimes its as simple as adding LT to symbolize my country to my name, sometimes its as silly as my eve character "Strazdas unstoppable" or even "Ball Lightning".

I've changed my online name a few times, but they've all pretty much been different versions of this.
As for IRL, Ashley is a wonderful name. There are many great people named Ashley.

Except for you know... that guy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Daystar+Clarion], but he certainly knows how to take a joke.

I probably never will change my real name. I'm not a huge fan of it, but it's not too bad and definitely not worth the hassle. I hate my middle name, but that never comes up anywhere so I won't bother changing it.

As for online names, General Twinkletoes is the only one I've used for more than 2 weeks. Sometimes if I have multiple characters or the name is too long I'll do General Twinkle/Twinkie, but apart from that it's stayed the same. I actually don't like it, but I can't think of a single name I won't immediately stop using. Everything I come up with just sounds worse.

No, I was christened Catfood220 and I have never seen any reason to change it. What? You thought that was a username or something?
