The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

Yeah, I know Morrowind isn't "hidden", but it is when you're eight. A cashier at an EB Games saw me getting Fable and said that if I liked that, I'd love Morrowind. Few months later, I saw it and was like, "Why not?" I got it, and it was absolutely amazing.

Divine Divinity.
yeah, the title is incredibly silly and the world is cliché, but the mechanics are very intuitive, this is probably what Diablo would've been like if it were made by bethesda when it comes to world detail.

Just recently started playing the Blackwell series - a really well written, well acted and fairly original concept for a point and click game.

Think Ghost Whisperer as a buddy cop movie and you're about half way there.

I've never met another person who's played Shadow Hearts, but the first two games of those were so much fun to play. It managed to be both intentionally and unintentionally hilarious.

1. Psychonauts: I don't know if this qualifies, but because it didn't sell nearly as well as it should have.

2. Startopia: was a very well made business sim where the player managed a space station. The company that made it went under so I think that qualifies.

3. The Bard's Tale: I bought it on sale on Steam for next to nothing and it was pretty funny. The combat was meh, but the main character was a rather amusing jackass and the plot while predictable was a nice reversal of the norm. Also the musical bits were hilarious.

I liked "Ring Of Red" on the PS2. Embarrassing title, intriguing story.

Before my PS3 died *sniffle*, I used to like the occasional Japanese import game. I really enjoyed "Boku no Natsuyasumi 3", which is probably a really shameful thing to admit. But it is SO Japanese, in all the ways I like about Japan (i.e., not stupid-violent gangster films or JRPGs).

Picked up NOX the other day when I saw it on sale from gog.com, remember it from when the game out as a friend owned it but I was never able to enjoy more that a few tastes as it wouldn't run on my old computer at the time.

Anyway picked it up and started playing it just recently and I'll be damned, it's actually really damned good. How'd a hack & slash of this calibur made by Westwood of all companies become so quickly forgotten? It's fantastic.
Agreed its an amazing game. The Nox multiplayer back in its hayday was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had gaming. It was forgotten because Diablo 2 was released at the same time and was more popular. To this day I have no idea why though, because D2 was a pretty boring click on monsters fest whereas Nox had hugely exciting fast paced gameplay.

Anyways to contribute:

Dreamfall - The Longest Journey

My computer cant run the original or I'd try that as well. My mother and sister had bought it previously(as they enjoy playing puzzle games together) and it was lying around so I decided to give it a try. Has one of the most imaginative and interesting videogame universes I have ever seen, with some of the best writing and most memorable characters out of any videogame I've played.

Yep. My cousins had a copy of "Gubble", the best Pacman variant ever, bar none.

It's old, but it hasn't lost an ounce of awesome.

A little gem I walked across was Lost Kingdom, for the Gamecube. It was a real time battle field jrpg where you summoned monsters from cards for specific effects. Some would just be an attack, others would be monsters summoned to the field, and others would be effects, like heal, paralyze, poison, what have you. I really had fun with it, and it's something I've seen twice since.

Aside from Drakengard. There was always this hidden little Gem from the Playstation 1:

I mean seriously....you could rip your own arm off and beat people to death with it, how did this game NOT gain a downright huge fan following!? That will forever be a mystery to me...
Cuz it was pretty mediocre. Sorry dude, I own it.

Okay kids, sit down, it's story time:

This was back in 2008. I had gone to my local Gamestop to preorder Super Smash Bros Brawl. While I was there, I decided to pick up a game, to help pass the time until brawl came out.

I found an interesting-looking game, sitting innocently on the shelf nearest me. I picked it up, thought "hey, this looks interesting", and bought it up on the spot, not knowing anything about it. I found out then that this was actually the game's release date, so it was brand-new.

I took it home, played it, and loved the shit out of it. Can you guess what it was?

Recently picked up a game from GOG called "Realms of the Haunting". Old FPS/Adventure game. Long story short: It's awesome. Bit cheesy, but awesome.
Wow, I somehow missed that Realms of the Haunting was on GOG, I've wanted to play that for YEARS. Buying now.

OT: I got Looking Glass Studios mech sim Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri the other day, and I am just blasting through it. It's an amazing game and it's a terrible shame that no one -- not even Looking Glass diehards -- seem to know what it is, let alone play it.

King Kong is the most immersive, cinimatic game I've ever played. Someone in one of this sites forums recommended it (I forget where) and it looked interesting so I bought it. I expected to enjoy it but I didn't expect to enjoy it that much. Anyone looking for an immersive action-adventure experience should play this game.
Agreed, I love that game to death, I actually preferred playing as the human over King Kong by a great deal, which is something I did not expect at all when picking up the game

OT: If this doesn't make you want this game (Pathologic, not King Kong), nothing will, it's a long read, but the game is worth it

The game isn't for everyone, but those who like it, love it

Just recently I downloaded "Beneath a Steel Sky" from GOG. I had never heard of it before, but it was amazing. Good story, likeable characters, catchy music (that LINC world tune is still stuck in my head), and a great atmosphere.

I saw this one game called Red orchestra and I watched videos of it on youtube. It really interested me as well as being cheap and I eventually got it. I guess this counts cause I never heard my friend talk about it when he had it (or I didnt pay attention to it.) But its a pretty good multiplayer game none the less.

Phantom Crash for the Xbox. A fast paced, incredibly customizable, multiplayer, mecha title from Japan. I understood 0% of the story and interactions between characters even though the text was translated to english but I had a ton of fun playing it.

Back when I got my Nintendo 64 it came with a game called Knife Edge. It was a rail shooter set on Mars where you're a spaceship pilot and you blow the ever living fuck out of some aliens.

It was AWESOME!
