Have you ever discovered something on accident that you love to this day?

Examples: When I was about 10 or 11, I was on a trip with my family, and I had left my comic books at home (American ones; Batman, Spiderman, Thor, etc.) So before I got on the plane, I picked up a copy of Shounen Jump from the airport convenience store.
While on the plane I read it, and was really confused at first (I was reading it backwards, and the stories were really weird.) But once I read it right and began to see the appeal of the characters, I was very interested.
And now I read asian comics.

Another instance is how I discovered Silent Hill. My sister suggested I see the movie, but I didn't want to because I heard it was lame. She insisted I look up the trailer. I typed "silent hill" into google, and found the Silent Hill wiki. The monsters of the game intrigued me, so I picked up Silent Hill 1 & 2, and I fucking loved them. Granted, they made me piss my pants, but I forever love the Silent Hill series because of it. Afterwards when I saw the movie, I got to be all smug about it and ***** about how it didn't do the games justice XD

TL;DR -- I discovered manga and Silent Hill on accident. Have you ever picked up something in passing and then fell in love with it?

Lemonade.

In preschool, we got drinks at snack.
One time, I tried the beverage, and found I liked it, but had no idea what it was.
After it was explained to me, my love for lemonade grew.

Oh she did? She reads manga as well then?

OT: I picked up the Eragon series on accident at the bookstore and am ever so patiently waiting for the 4th book.

A TV show called Code Lyoko was displayed as part of a programming block. I liked the first and last shows, but the middles I had never seen, until one day. I grew to love this show. Not the other one, whatever it was.

Citizen Cope

One Summer I was in the back seat with a friend's cousin. He put in Sideways, and he's been my favorite artist since that day.

The show "Xiaolin Showdown". Just flipping through the TV listings one day and decided to see what it was... it was awesome.

Black coffee.

Ran out of milk. Couldn't be bothered to go to the shop. Thought 'Meah' can't taste that bad without the milk and I've looked back since.

I'm sure that many men on this forum can agree. But they have to do it in secret to avoid judgment by family members. I am of course talking about
My Little Pony

Joking aside, I discovered RPGs when I played Final Fantasy at a friends house when I was very young. Very big fan of them now.

Okay, this one actually involve this site. And it's a bit complicated.

Almost a year ago, there was this news story [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/103923-8-Bit-Parody-of-Cee-Los-F-k-You-Has-Got-Soul]. Damn, time goes by fast. It feels like it's only been a few months. Anyway, I skipped over it because I had never heard Fuck You and made an educated guess that it was rap. A few days later, I heard it on the radio and was greatly amused. So when I came back, I watched that video and enjoyed it too. I figured Inverse Phase was the artist's name, so I looked it up and found his Bandcamp page [http://inversephase.bandcamp.com/]. I listened to most of it. Off to the side, something caught my eye. There was a link to another Bandcamp page, by some guy named brental [http://brentalfloss.bandcamp.com/album/what-if-this-cd-had-lyrics]floss [http://www.youtube.com/user/brentalfloss].

Here I am almost a year later, and I know it sounds painfully sappy, but Mr. Floss has changed my life. I was always the quiet, introverted type with no real way to "express myself". Brent mixed my two favorite things, music and video games, and I bought his CD and started singing along to it in the car or whatever else, and then started doing what he did, adding lyrics to game music and actually singing it. Something I'd never done before. Not in a school choir, not with my friends, not even in the shower. Until all this shit.

I am now about 300-400% more confident, which has made me just as much happier.

The Elder Scrolls series, once upon a time little old me was in gamestation browsing the games. They had a deal on 4 Xbox games for £20, looking through them I found a few I liked the look of but couldn't really find a fourth. By chance I picked up a game called Morrowind, had a quick look at the case and thought it sounded interesting enough even though I knew nothing about it.

When I got home I decided to try Morrowind out first. I put the disc in my Xbox and loaded it up then the awesome intro music played and I was looking forward to playing it. I made my character and started exploring and became immersed in the game like I had never had been in a game before, then I sat and played nothing but Morrowind for like 3 months. Ever since that fateful day I have been a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls games :D

Legend of Dragoon. I was like 15 or 16 and picked it up at a store for really cheap with no prior knowledge of it. I just wanted something fun to play and the box looked interesting.

Same. I wanted to get Fable, but I was too young, and my parents were really strict about that kind of thing. So, I got Morrowind instead. And loved it. I now have Oblvion too, and am waiting anxiously for Skyrim.

On a different note, this song.

I found it randomly through a link, and I love it to bits. I just agree with the lyrics SO much! I still smile when it comes on my mp3 player!

Trauma Center I bought the DS version when I bought my DS because it looked interesting to me, and I really enjoyed the challenge of the game so much in fact that I bought the Wii version of it which was just hard.
