Have you ever done this with games...

Lately i've been blowing off games and haven't even bothered playing them anymore. The last games that I was seriously into was Prototype and Oblivion. But lately I rented LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, and No More Heroes, and havent't even bothered getting past half of the game. I play them for 1 or 2 days and then just quit it. I can't even bear to pick up the controller.

Strangely I recently got Halo for the PC and I'm already playing that more than the other new games I rented in the past month.

Has this ever happened to you? Perhaps you lost your passion or interest in games for a time?

Happens a lot, mostly when I die after not saving for about 5 hours.

Yep, I do that more than I'd like to admit. It's usually when I hit an especially difficult boss or get hopelessly lost. I'll try to get past it but if it just seems like I'm hitting a brick wall, I'll set it aside and "go back to it later."
I never go back to it.

I haven't played any games at all in a week or so.

Possibly because I know it won't satisfy me - I am waiting for new releases, and I always get so excited that the games I already have feel dull.
Oh yes, I forgot about this other habit I have. I do this too. Only, I sort of "game hop." I get so excited for a game and even though I want to play something, nothing keeps my interest. I'll "start" a few of my unplayed games, get a couple hours in, lose interest, and go to something else. It's usually a while before I go back to these somewhat started games too.

I also have this problem, especially when my newest game was bought months upon months prior, which is often the case with me.

Yea, recently. Haven't played anything new in a long time and even VII can't satisfy. I've taken to trying to design the perfect MMO and working on my DnD.

I've given up games before, specifically the first Ninja Gaiden for x-box. I got over half-way through, double saved right before a mid-boss with a tiny sliver of health (and no currency to buy health potions). I just gave up rather than deal with that hellish game again.

Exited? Lies.

OT: Yeah - I went through loads of Original Xbox Games, I didnt even play 10% of them. Pre-owned 4 for £20 kinda meant i monstered a load of games.

it's more common that i'll get to a point in a level when i'll just say "F*CK THIS GAME" and bring it back to gamestop and get another used title

I do that all the time. Often during the last act, chapter, scene, boss of a game I'll just put it down and just forget about it. Then I'll come back to it and forget my motivation for coming this far, or I get clumsy with the controls. I've been getting better lately.. But that's probably due to games being generally shorter than they used to.

It took me 5 months into total to Finish Half Life 2. Played the heck out of it.. Then didn't touch it until the New Year.
