Have you ever gimped a character?

I didn't put enough points into Constitution for Leilana, and I hadn't put enough levels of Lock-pick into Zevran, and for some reason (not a programmed behavior), Leilana likes to run into poke ineffectually at enemies with her two daggers. Seriously, bint: if the golem and the templar are having problems, you're probably not going to be all too helpful.

I've done this many times, usually because initially I decide which skills seem good and try to max/min but sometimes I water it down or realize the skills are simply gimped or whatever, so usually that leads me to a restart within a few hours. I've been pretty good about not effing up recently except in DA:O I made a tank character and realised how stupid that was, so I instead leveled a rogue and made Alistair tank. Good call.

My first Fallout 3 character could have been used as a "How NOT to do it" lesson for new players. So many bad PERK choices and wasted Stat points. Plus I missed some crucial weaponry quests.

I think pretty much every character I make is gimped by me. Not because I want to be the weakest, slowest, softest guy out there, mind. I have a habit of trying to make them all more well rounded which just makes them weaker all around. Oh well, though, I think it gives them character.

Some of my Oblivion characters have been very messed up

Like a Michal Jackson look alike archer

He looked much better in the character creation screen.
They usually do. Also why the hell can't you have have a beard?
Because then Sheogorath would have to kill you in Shivering Isles. (If you go to Execution Point without being sent there by Sheogorath, you find a note that says that one of the guys who was dropped there was dropped beecause he tried to grow a beard. Probably just an in-joke about the character creation limitations, but still.

I love doing that, once in Fallout 2 I made character with charisma and luck maximal but with minimal intellegence that was so interesanting play throught.
