About a week ago. I had this "dream" about me playing Fable II, and I was glitched up to the point where I moved all jagged. I woke up and rolled around, but every time I closed my eyes, I still saw it. I then got out of bed and threw up in the toilet: the first time in what would be a three day fuck-tackular where I mainly threw up till I passed out with my head behind the toilet. Hooray.

Guild Wars: myself a flame elementalist (as was my main's typical spec) and a few others were frantically trying to kill waves of something (Charr?), but it was one wave after the next and we were slowly getting overrun... [end of record] I think this was before I had seen the canyon scene in the recent King Kong film -- gods, that was horrific. (And now it occurs to me that the latter could serve as an (external) metaphor for cancer...)

There was also one where rookie myself and one other, my friend and captain (no one I actually knew), were two warriors in some sort of labyrinth/ruins place fleeing from a couple minotaurs (again, of the Guild Wars variety). We split up to separate them and she manages to kill or lose one. We then rejoined, and she decides to cover me while I climb to safety ahead of her. I get halfway up and look back to see her fending off the other, but then watch helplessly as she gets fatally skewered through the gut by the thing's unicorn horn. [end of record] Sort of a Qui-Gon Ginn moment, I guess (heck, is there a trope on this?), including how they didn't die instantly, but you knew it was pretty immediately fatal.

I've probably had others, but those are the only two I can remember.

edit: I suppose you could psychoanalyze the content of game dreams, which strikes me as odd (but then I never cared much for psychology of that sort).

Most of the ones either involve Bowser (in a minecart) or a horde of Metroids chasing me down a highway in the middle of a thunderstorm.

I did have a fairly disturbing one where Revolver Ocelot took his still smoking revolver (after he had blown out my kneecaps) and burned out my eyes. While singing "Minnie the Moocher".

I was fighting heavily armored Brutes on a Covenant stronghold with only a small bit of ammunition and a Covenant Carbine.

Yes definitely! Two nights ago in fact, I had dreamt that I was a marine on some outworld colony fighting surprise suprise Xenomorphs from the Alien series, though it's not much of a nightmare though I thought I was pretty awesome except dammmn running out of ammo sucked... Freaking scary stuff. I sometimes have a rather odd experience when I just can't fall asleep and for some reason my brain goes and REPLAYS entire games in my head. I've only done this twice first like when I was 14 or something when I somehow replayed the majority of Final Fantasy I and a month or so ago when I replayed the whole of Doom. So much chainsaw death...

After a 4 hour Battlenet Starcraft marathon, I dreamed I had to defend against a never-ending mutalisk horde. Not actually scary in the, ya know, scary sense, just stressful as hell.

Oh god. I had a horrible nightmare that was a mix of two things:

1. The first nightmare level in Max Payne
2. Silent Hill in that Pyramid Head was chasing me down long, narrow corridors

I didn't have a weapon, Pyramid Head was quicker than in the game, the areas around me would constantly change (such as the elevator I was running to collapses to the bottom floor), and it was all in this sickly blue color.
I was quite relieved when I woke up.

I had a nasty dream about a Flood spore taking over my body not long after I picked up Halo3 and saw the new Flood transformtion animations. Creepy stuff.

I've also had lots of zombie dreams in my life but when Dead Rising was my game of the day I had a particularly interesting zombie dream where Frank West helped me back to the maintainence room and one of the bitten survivors turned undead and tried to eat everyone. Not really much of a nightmare though.

Yes I have and it taught me to never play Fatal Frame at Midnight when my entire family was away on vacation and I stayed home. My dream consisted of me being in the game and if you have played Fatal Frame then you know what I mean.

Every so often I get a random Night O' Nightmares, mashing up everything that even mildly disturbed me over the last few months... last one had a Big Daddy, L4D Witch, and the fishmen from CoC: Dark Corners of the Earth.

It was a real party, lemme tell ya.

I started having horrible nightmares about being chased by hordes of zombies years ago, so I would say games are based off of my nightmares.

I once dreamed in 3rd person after playing too much Prototype.
Me and my friend call that the Bleeding Effect after Assassin's Creed.
Nice, I love AC! But I think it's an advanced form of the Tetris Effect, isn't it?
Yeah, I sometimes get waves of perspective when I'm very aware I'm in first person. I once had a dream where I was fighting off Zombines with a shotgun, but I had to run out of ammo and lose the ability to run. It wasn't that scary, but I panicked a little.

In Final Fantasy VII, there's a mini-dungeon in the back of Cosmo Canyon that you have to fight your way through at some point. It's called the Cave of the Gi, and it's overrun with spirits and whatnot.

It's fairly short, and not really all that challenging, but when you reach the boss... Well, just watch.
The boss itself is really easy, and not at all frightening... But that tree. That damn tree. The way it looks at you, the way it starts moving... I distinctly remember having nightmares for at least a week after getting there.

Yeah, I was cornered by a purple Glowing One in a room with a chain-link fence separating me from the ghoul and only a water pistol to kill it with.
