Same here, pretty much. I was diagnosed at age eight, hospitalized repeatedly and force-fed medication until I was eighteen, and lived with a mother who is severely bipolar and thinks therapy and pills are God's gift to the human race.Phlakes said:Yep, diagnosed and almost put on medication, until I decided it all wasn't worth it, so I punched it in the dick and told it to piss off. Worked surprisingly well.
I left therapy, kicked the pills cold-turkey (that was the scariest six weeks of my life), and overall I'm a healthy and functioning individual with a stable job, relationship, and life. I did have a revelation that the diagnosis might have been affected by my learning disorder, and I have anxiety which I staunchly refuse to treat because without my anxiety, I don't know who I am.
Again, overall I'm an okay person, and you can be too. Fight with everything you have, and don't decide to follow my example. Figure out what works for you.
