Have you ever not beaten a game legitimately.

Drawn to life, I used the invincibility cheats.
Seriously, those bosses were impossible.

Pretty much every Doom game except Doom 3. Back then, didn't pretty much everyone know about iddqd and idkfa? At this point, they are no longer on my computer.

Doom 2... Those giant spiders are annoying after you run outta rockets... I always found IDKFA and hard mode were more fun.

The Elcor Batman said:
San Andreas. i really tried to beat it, but i just couldnt. i felt too constrained without being able to spawn a harrier all the time. in the end i used a cheat disk to get a completed save.

and i dont regret it one bit. :)
I remember when I did San Andreas without cheats - I felt so proud of myself. Solid at times though, mainly due to the lack of objects I could explode things with...

No, not that I can recall. I never really was any good at cheat codes.

Legend of Dragoon I was 10 and got a gameshark for christmas, I went nuts and put it on all my games. I went back and beat the others but I still can't beat *spoiler warning* Melbu Frahma fairly.

Well in Saints Row 2 you can unlock two Pistols that shoot automatic, and reload super fast. Combine that with the unlimited pistol ammo and it sure felt like I was cheating....

But other than that.....Banjo-Tooie and Majora's Mask. Those are the only two guides I own, so if that counts as cheating, well then there's my examples

If peek-a-portal, portal standing, portal bumping, portal edge glitch and (more recently) re-portaling is considered not legitimate; sure.
If using cheats that are part of the game (such as typing specific commands into the chat, mostly old games) is not legitimate; sure.
If looking up in walkthroughs/lets plays because you are utterly stuck is lot legitimate, sure.

But after beating the game for a first time, I cheat like a [insert racist/sexist remark of choice], mostly because I already know how to beat the game "properly", and all replay value is lost.

I have a really difficult time playing a Bethesda game without using console commands. You name it, at some point in Fallout 3, TES4 and Fallout NV, I've gotten really pissed and spawned an obscene amount of money in my inventory.

It's not because the games are difficult, it's just... The console just sits there, calling to me, speaking quiet promises of making all my dreams come true...

I never really cheated in games until I completed them first, but the sims, which I got bored of quickly, I used the money and move objects cheat, which made things alot more fun (sims swimming down the road, etc)

Hmm... Alpha protocol, had to cheat a lot of points to amp myself up in the ability to pick locks...

Also, Deus Ex, there is a glitch that lets you hack and lockpick and door/computer using only one lockpick/multitool without upgrading lockpicking/electronics.

I have non-legitimately beeten mass effect 2 to skip the terrable resource mining, but i have done a fer legitimately playthroughs

San Andreas... I was young and the cheats were far too cool to pass up! I mean, access to all the best vehicles and weapons? Nitro on EVERYTHING? Flying cars, no gravity? Too much fun would be lost without these ^^

FFX, invincibility and insta-kill, just couldnt bring myself to level-up due to hatred for turn-based fighting

Honestly, almost every game ive ever played ive beaten legitimately.

I go through them on normal difficulty the first play through. I will try do this in as few sittings as possible so that i dont have the ability to look up cheats.

The games im most proud of are The Elderscrolls Morrowind and Oblivion. And soon im gunna do it to Skyrim too. And when i say i completely went through a game, i mean it. I literally collected every magic item in Oblivion. I had my friend write out a list of every single unique item name, and i crossed them off one by one until i had them all. ((Except the "Mask of Clavicus Vile" because i would have had to given up Umbra to get it))

And when the expansions came out, i completed all of those. I also found every location, did every quest, and end up with so many saves my hard drive was ready to explode. ((i had it on xbox first)) Then i bought it on pc about a year ago, and ive modded it beyond all recognition.

Just San Andreas, to my knowledge.

I could probably do it legit now, since I really didn't play anything but turn-based JRPGs back then.
