I've been a habitual marijuana smoker for a few years,I never even tried it until I was 21.About a few weeks ago I decided to stop and it's been tough even to this day all I want to do is smoke a vap.In the end it's for the best and I've been exercising more than ever and just generally feel more focused so honestly I don't really even want to get high anymore.Im still experiencing withdrawal symptoms but can identify them and work through it.They'll pass eventually but from what I've read it can take a long time.Good luck to you those things are terrible your body will thank you for it and you know what they say "Take care of your body and it will take care of you"

Just don't buy too much. Plan it out exactly so you don't tempt yourself into indulgence. You can do it!
yeah, I don't need the full 500ml can..just enough to satisfy...I feel bad now

I was at the checkout and think "why are they so slow? everyone slow! HURRY UP PEOPLE I'VE GOT SHIT TO DO"

Sure. Gave up smoking a few years ago (after smoking for about 8 years).
Not that big a deal if you ask me.

Also I've given up eating like a normal person for the last 4 months.
I hate diets.

Never had to give up on anything, but Berocca is nice man. I will drink that shit when I ain't sick!

Nope, that's not normal.

See a doctor.
You probably meant that as a joke, but it actually is a normal thing to happen. Well, not glow, but it does go BRIGHT yellow. It's due to the amount of Vitamin B12 in the drink being higher than your body will absorb, and it makes your piss bright yellow when the excess is excreted.

Fun fact for the day.

One a day will give you Crohn's Disease, never drink energy drinks!!!!! Okay I'm done with my lil rant. I tried to give up sweets, candy, chocolate and all that. I couldn't make it more than a few weeks. I tried to give up masturbation for celibacy. I made it 35 days. I commend anyone who has been able to go longer than that.
how so?
All that sugar, it will mess up your intestines. My brother got Crohn's Disease from drinking red bull every day for a few months.

Cutting back my coke cola to twice a week instead of one everyday. Been doing that for a year. The caffeine withdrawal was a ***** but I'm glad I did it. Pimples have gone down and my face isn't so oily.

I'm also trying to stop touching my face so much, and picking at my scabs. I'm causing myself unnecessary pain D:

I gave up alcohol because it stopped working

And i gave up fast food because it is just too expensive for such poorly nutritionous food

Also working on quitting/reducing sugar, and at the moment i am not doin caffeine because it makes me nervous and i am not in a good situation (damn i want a rockstar)

I was actually addicted to salt, i used to buy large flake salt boxes and sit and eat it like candy
Probably the worst ''drug'' i tried

Gave up cigarettes after 30 years of smoking. (Quit July 1, 2011 ~ Almost a year now)

Best thing I ever did, and yes it was hard. Loved smoking, didn't care about the smell, expense, anything, except for my health starting to go to complete shit. That did it for me, I feel like I'm in my early thirties again.

so I guess what I'm asking is am I actually suffering from wtihdrawl here, do I consume enough for that? or is it all in my head? I remember another time I didnt get my daily fix until 1in the afternoon and I was mostly ok....has my brain just thrown a pre-emptive tantrum here?
Yep, that's caffeine withdrawal. I gave up caffeine not too long ago, and that's exactly how I felt.

To answer the original question, well, I've already established that I gave up caffeine, specifically because my body was dependent on it to get through the day. I intermittently drink caffeine now, but my body doesn't hate me if I go without it, which was what I wanted to reach by giving it up. Stick with it; the symptoms shouldn't last for more than a few days, a week at most, and they'll get weaker as the days pass. Best advice I can give is to stay hydrated (drink LOTS of water and maybe some cranberry juice! It helps your body get cleaned out) and get plenty of sleep so that the fatigue doesn't become unbearable throughout your day.

Another answer to the original question, a few months ago I gave up video games for a month. Similar situation to the caffeine: I was at a loss on how to be entertained without games, but by giving them I rediscovered the joys of reading, watching shows/movies, and playing my guitar.

I guess the overall lesson here is "take all things in moderation."

Best of luck on your caffeine-free time.

Yeah I had to give up coke. During my exams I thought I was doing bad (ended up getting 94.6 and the maximum score is 99.95) and really got into it. It ended up wearing away so much enamel that I couldn't even bite my nails (which probably wasn't helping) without feeling my teeth. Dentist gave me a bunch of cream to remineralise the teeth but I was told to just stay the fuck away from coke in general if I didn't want it happening again.

I didn't get many caffeine withdrawal symptoms, I was really tired for a few weeks but nothing big. It's much more of a mental dependency for me, my mind just tells me "DUDE WHY AREN'T YOU DRINKING COKE RIGHT NOW?" I did successfully avoid it for a while, but the dentist said that once the cream was done I could have 1 or 2 cans a week so I'm up to that now.

secodn question [b/]have you ever tried to give up anything? how did you feel? were you sucessful?[/b]
I don't know, I have no idea how energy drinks work.

Yes, I gave up cocaine successfully by moving on to ecstasy. It felt terrible trying to give up, but then as soon as I decided to start taking loads of pills instead there was no problem.

I gave up smoking with little problem at all but I only really started as something to take the edge of rattling for heroin and just did it out of habit when I got in from work, once I decided to quit it wasn't a problem at all, just "*bang* I no longer want cigarettes".

I tried giving up heroin but it didn't really work very well, doing a controlled detox on buprenorphine was virtually painless* but in the end the time it takes to get back to normal energy levels and state of mind defeated me. Then I managed to persuade the drug treatment services to put me on a diamorphine script so now I don't have to give up...I probably should though, even though it works well for me in many ways it also means you tend to float along in a hazy little bubble without actually "living" your life, if that makes sense.

Everything else I just got bored of on my own.

*my idea of virtually painless might be somewhat different to everyone else's.
