This happens to me all the time I get a bad game like Far Cry 2 and I find myself desperately teying to convince myslef that it is an awesome game. Dose this happen to you?

The only truly terrible game I've ever bought was Dark Sector and instead of justifying it, I used it as a learning experience. Ever since I bought that game I've never made such a bad decision on buying games. I also publicly announce the failure of that game (kinda like I'm doing here...)

yeah it happens anyone when they fork over $60 on a game that sucks. I tried my damndest to love mirrors edge but after owning for several months and not touching it after i beat it the first time, i had to admit that it sucked.

I think we've all mentally done this with a game that has a hot girl on the cover.

I had it with the 360.

But then I accepted that I wasted a lot of money(both for the console and the games) and gave it a place next to my PC to collect dust. It's still connected to my monitor though, for the few Rare games I play.

Perhaps not justified. I'm more like Teddy:

uhm....nope.
Never happened.
If I bought a shit game then I accept that.
"Bad buy. Now learn what made me fall for this."

With rentals going out of style in my area, I'm glad I honed this skill.

Enter the Matrix. Justification: "But it's The Matrix!"

Not sure if that counts because I actually did enjoy Enter the Matrix quite a lot, despite its flaws.

I recently bought "Infernal" for 7 dollars I played the intro and got pretty bored... yet to come back to that one (although I did get 140 gamer score... worth it)

Um, I don't think I justify buying a terrible game so much as I have reasonably low standards and can therefore enjoy even mediocre games. It's difficult to explain (for me perhaps), but I enjoy a lot of games because I'm easy to please. Ergo, I don't need any of this justification nonsense.

No, I just accept the fact that I bought a bad game and trade it in for something better. Or ask my brother why the hell he bought the game.

I did but only once. I brought Sprung for the DS at a Best Buy I used to work at, on sale (Because the store was trying desperately to get rid of them) for 99 cents just to see how good or bad it was.

I later traded it in for $3 store credit at a Game Crazy. No shame there.

Tried to justify Lord of the Rings: The Third Age. Gave up on the "it's fun to see the story from a different view" and never beat it (I think that's the only game I've ever just stopped playing).

FFVII Dirge of Cerberus. However, I didn't TRY to justify this game. I DID. FVII=must play/watch/own for me. I knew it wasn't going to be great, X-play's review of it confirmed that, the controls where difficult, the story was...wierd, but the fact that it was a continuation of VII's plot and characters was enough justification for me. (So now people start saying I have no taste, right? I'm new at this.)

Halo 3 ODST

...It's okay, it's got a good multiplayer... It wasn't a waste of 80+ dollars...

The latest Unreal Tournament game, I dont remember the number.

"Oh, this isn't a crappy game. Look, it has cool guns! And interesting vehicles!"

Until you realize that those things don't cover for the complete lack of any interesting game.

FF13?
WET?
One Chan Barra Samurai Bikini Squad?
the list goes on and on.

I don't do it(to my knowledge) but my friend constantly does this with any of his hundreds of anime jrpgs.
It's not a "cultural difference"
I love and play Jrpg's.
alot of the ones he owns are simply crap.

I bought Bayonetta, I heard the art style was great and the combat was awesome too. The game was f*ing pathetic.

I buy games that look like they're going to be shit, because sometimes you'll find a hidden gem.
