Yes.

I used any sort of weapon that could kill a person in Call of Duty.

(I've been called a noob for basically every conceivable thing in COD.)

Yup, I love me some run and knifing. Also, if I pick up a gun and it still has grenades for its tube you bet I'm going to use them.

I've used melee weapons in an FPS. Apparently this is noobish. I can't for the life of me see why.

Using a shotgun, apparently. Or going to a high place with a good view when using a sniper rifle.

A Badwater 24/7 server for Team Fortress 2, I'm a Red Engineer, we've been pushed back to the second-last point after plenty of give and take resulting in our line receding. I brace for the worst as I build up under the balcony. I take a cursory look around the area and notice that our team is pretty successfully holding them in the basin area underneath the attic near the second Blu spawn.
So I set up a teleporter in the building on the side near the checkpoint, and move my sentry to the balcony overlooking all points of attack or entry to the bombcart and the next area, save for the stairs up to where I was.
That very-far forward defensive teleporter ensured we held the line for 11 minutes. The cart never moved.

Well, I'm not really very good at many games. I'll take any advantage I can get.

Duel-wielding plasma pistol and magnum, or using Plasma pistol and battle rifle combo in Halo 2 (back in the day, y'know, when H2 was alive) was always fun...
I have done my fair share of tubing in MW2, but it was only for the challenges/perk upgrades etc.
But in that game, pretty much any tactic you use warrants a 'noob' comment.

I've been called a noob for using switching to a pistol in CoD: MW when I ran out of ammo. I've been called a noob for healing people in MNC. I've been called a noob for helping out my teammates in L4D, and for grabbing a gas tank in a game of Scavenge in L4D2.

Basically, when I am in ANY way better than any single person in the round, it doesn't matter if I'm ranked first in the round or last, I am called a noob.

TF2: the Natascha when it was overpowered
BFBC2: the Carl Gustav

countless others I can't recall, if a weapon/ability/etc is in game, it's there for a reason, to use at your discretion. I hate when someone claims it's a noob tactic. Now I'll admit it feels a bit tasteless especially when dev's may even say it's OP and needs to be fixed, but untill it's fixed it's still in game. they haven't removed it from play and swatted you with a bit of newspaper for using it. If they don't remove it from play it's fair game...that's not to say I always go with what's best out there, but even if it's a "noob" tatic/weapon/etc as long as it's there your allowed to use it.....people just call anything that can kill them a noob tactic, even if it's a proper way to use said tactic....

I get into a corner in MW2 to heal, reload and kill anyone who walks in the extremely vacant part of the map and called a noob for it. I also run out with a knife if it's a close quarters battle and I have to reload

All the time. But it's mainly because people will complain about any tactic or weapon that they're not smart enough to counter. There were many times when I played Unreal Tournament 2004 and Battlefield 2142 where people would complain about me using noob weapons, so I'd ask "what would you like me to kill you with." In Team Fortress 2 I've been called a noob for playing every class. I've actually gotten into the habit of telling people how to successfully counter me but they rarely listen.

I think I'm the only person in the world that attacks the teleporter entrance.
