Have you ever watched a movie/TV show and then IMMEDIATELY wanted to buy merchandise from it?

So, I FINALLY got around to watching the Lego Movie yesterday. Absolutely freaking loved it. It was like someone took a bucket of Legos, dumped them in front of my childhood, and told my childhood to make a movie. It actually made me kinda sad that I sold off all my Legos from childhood.

Which brings me to the point of this thread. After I was finished watching it, I immediately started thinking, "Huh, I wonder how much a building set of Metalbeard costs. Oh, and Unikitty, too. I love Unikitty. Or how about Spaceman. Or..." And it basically continued on from there.

I am now SORELY tempted to rush out to Toys R Us and buy some Legos because of this movie. Have you guys ever felt the same way? Where you finished a game/movie/TV show and then IMMEDIATELY wanted to buy some stuff from it?

Does advert count? I mean the only time I had acted like that was Bionicle particularly this one (well ok it was the canister releasing and Tahu or Onuwa and he assemble himself).

Well ok The Lego Movie had a similar effect well mainly just me looking up the toyset online and checking the cost only to find out it wasn't worth it for me (I only want Unikitty and her set cost £20 and that touch keyring is too large).

Yes, that is the Jeagers and Kaiju from Pacific Rim.

This is straight up a parody/live action adaptation of Neon Genesis Evangelion with none of the teen angst, depressing characters, or a disappointing ending. It also showcases a bunch of awesome action figures.

I have yet to begin a mint condition toy collection and I would most likely begin with these. Now if I could only find a site that will have all the toys in a certain series listed (i.e. the series that has all of the regular looking figures vs. the series that has "battle scarred" figures).

I was randomly (that is a lie) walking through Toys R Us and saw Wall-E toys back when the movie was still in theaters. I immediately bought the tiny Wall-E and EVE toys. The EVE I got opens up and there's room inside to store the little boot with the plant, plus the light bulb. You can swap her arm out for the 'gun' version, but in regular mode she closes up like a little egg. If you push down on her head she changes her expression through her eyes.

Um, this was $7 when I bought it. [http://www.amazon.com/Disney-Wall-E-Search-Protect-60230/dp/B0018M99FQ/ref=sr_1_14?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1403297417&sr=1-14&keywords=wall-e+eve] There's no way in hell anyone in their right mind would pay over $200 for a plastic toy the size of a gerbil. That's the free market for you, or at least that's how some Amazon resellers work.

I, uh...I also bought the huge electronic EVE [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFSjBNgNmLQ] for $60. What? I knew she would disappear off the shelves, so I was being proactive.

Nope, not a fan of merchandise, I actually don't own any merchandise except what I got free and some T-Shirts from bands/concerts.

Beyblade caught me. It was fun with friends for the 8 months other people would like to play with me.

I don't even know where that junk is anymore...

Even if I had the extra cash to spend on that kind of thing, I probably wouldn't. There's just not a whole lot of merchandise that interests me. Unless it's a DVD/Blu-Ray of the movie/show, then it's a maybe.

Madoka Magica. I want to buy every figure, poster, spin-off manga, CD, game, everything. Hell, I got the standard edition of the US release, but I'm planning on one day getting the limited edition when I get the money, then I'd have two copies of Madoka Magica.

MLP, according to my 20+ MLP shirts... (Granted, it was more of a "slow burn" of an "immediate reaction", but whatever...)

Other than that... uh... whenever something I like ALREADY... also comes in Special/Limited/Collector's Edition... (It's literally the main thing that always proves to me how little money I actually have...) I mean, I literally bought the EVERYTHING IS AWESOME Edition of The LEGO Movie just to have my very own Viruvius LEGO minifigure...

I still have all 4 of my BeyBlades as well as both the GBA and GameCube video game that went along with the VForce series...

Completely unexpectedly, it was MLP for me. I finally tried it out a few months ago and ended up marathoning the whole thing. I honestly never thought I'd be the type to become a "pegasister", but I love it, and I immediately wanted to go out and buy merchandise, so I guess it did its job :p I'm not so keen on the toys, but I've seen some pretty sweet vinyl figures and shirts. I also think these are amazing, though I'm not sure if I'd actually use one if I had it.

I haven't actually bought anything yet, though I did change my laptop wallpaper to this:

Oh, and when I was a kid I used to still totally want the official Woody/Buzz/Jessie toys from Toy Story. Pretty sure one day I'll give in and squander £50-ish on my very own Buzz Lightyear.

As a few others have mentioned, the merchandise I definitely wanted to buy after watching a movie/TV show/playing a game was definitely more prevalent when I was younger - Pokémon, YuGiOh, etc.

Still have all of my old cards, collectibles, games, etc. hidden away somewhere.

I never impulse buy. I'm pretty particular with what I want and how much I'm willing to spend.
I'm perfectly comfortable with waiting until something becomes cheaper before I let myself have something.
On average I buy about one thing annually on myself for recreational purposes.
