I won a camera once in 8th grade. It was a part of an anti-smoking campaign my school was running where you'd be eligible to win if you didn't smoke during that year. I already had a better camera, but it's the only time I've ever won anything remotely valuable so I consider it pretty awesome.

I've won a few video games and accessories from a multitude of magazine contests and such, I was the national champion of Magic: The Gathering for a year in the 90's, but the crown jewel was winning a writing competition for The Last Samurai. I got a trip to London (where I'd been, ironically, only two months earlier), all-expenses paid, a stay at a luxury hotel, £1500 of pocket money, red carpet treatment at the premiere for the movie, a leather bag full of promotional material for the movie like clothing and behind the scenes books, got to meet Tom Cruise, and a fancy dinner and cocktail at a Japanese restaurant. All that was accompanied by a film crew from a TV channel who did a story on us (I got to take my sister with me).

I won a random phone-in contest with my local newspaper a few years back.
The prize? A ride out around my local roads in a Pagani Zonda F Roadster (one of only 25 in the world).
The prize also included a meal for two....which was nice!

In my college course we had a competition to see who could build a catapult that fires the furthest. My group's won, with somewhere in the region of 80 metres.
Come to think of it, I've yet to spend my ?20 gift voucher for that. I should probably do that before christmas.

I won a free copy of Prince of Persia 3D. After playing it, I didn't really feel much like a winner. Other than that, I've won one or two free t-shirts. Nothing of real monetary value.
Back during my school days, I won a chess tournament during Spirit Week. My first opponent was my hardest, as I won by a single point. It was my best friend, whom I practiced against many times, so that was expected. I then went on to checkmate every single opponent afterwords.
Felt pretty damn good back then for being the "silent loner" kid. Also made me feel pretty damn smart, too! ^_^

I won a giant gingerbread man for Shrek 2 at a movie theater at the premiere once. Damn, that was good gingerbread.
Well, I was the 1999 Florida Martial Arts sparring champ in my age group. Got a cool jacket and everything.
Other than that... I remember winning a coloring contest when Toy Story first came out, and I won a Mr Potato Head.

It was back in public school, and my school was having a raffle for frozen turkeys around Christmas (every student gets a ticket, I guess it was one of those charity-esque giveaways). When they were announcing the winners I guess I looked a little bit excited, so one of the more douchy students in my class said "there's no way a loser like you could win anything"
Not one second afterward the words left her lips, my name gets called. I had won the biggest and heaviest turkey in the bunch. Now the turkey was delicious and I got to share it with my extended family in Montreal over the holidays, so it was great all round.
But the look on her face as the PA system made her eat those words......
You just gotta love those little moments when everything falls together perfectly......
