Have you ever wondered if you've seen someone online in more than one place?

I've seen some users on the Escapist on different websites although I never call them out. The biggest offender is Indigo_Dingo who I've seen on two other forums. I think, think I've seen Knight Templar on Youtube comments although I could be mistaken.

Also a few users,like Anarchemitis(sp?) have Youtube accounts. The few videos of his I've seen are pretty neat.

My youtube name is KnightTemplar108, but three other people use the account to watch videos and post comments, one of whom is an arse.

So it was most likely my account, but it might not have been me, if that makes any sense.

There are definately several escapist users on youtube, including me.

I once went on a forum site, a guy off it ended up finding me on MSN and Bebo as well.

easy fix, when you register for your net service you get a customer number given by your isp, and this number is stamped on any thing you post on the net, so we can all identify eachother at all times.


and doing a google search for a number would find everything someone has ever posted on the internet. it would be epic.

It's crossed my mind from time to time. But I can take it one step further.

I, like Yahtzee, have convinced myself that everyone else online who isn't me is secretly a celebrity who is using an obscure username to hide who they are because they're tired of being recognized and destabilizing all conversations with their celebritiness.

Unlike Yahtzee, however, I do not think everyone I meet online is secretly Bruce Willis. A man can dream, though...a man can dream...

I know I have MANY times. One case was on GUcomics forum. Got BSing with the member over PMs (forget why) turned out to be a guy I knew from EQ and he lived in the same state as I did. Another case happened to my father. He was walking around the Walmart we went to looking for the new EQ expansion (back when they sold it there) this "kid" (late teens then) got talking to him about EQ, turned out to be someone we knew in game the last couple years; we found out that he lived only a block from my sister and her husband.

This is why I use "Lrbearclaw" or "Khongol" (my EQ characters' names) as my usernames everywhere. I figure if you know me then you are welcome to contact me, I don't mind at all.

Its not a very long stretch of the imagination that people here have accounts in more than one place. I for one have many forum accounts spread across the internet under the same name I carry here. I have 1 or 2 other standby names for when I don't want people to find me, however. I use those for the "naughtier" forums of the interwebs.

I actually had this happen before.

Back in the day me and 3 close friends played alot of BF1942...well we made a good hand full of other gaming friends from that game that carried over the years.

Well one day I was playing wow running around Shat and I saw this name that was one of our gaming buddies name in all his game so I sent him a whisper im like is this blah blah blah...and it was. Running into some one like that in wow on the same server same faction...pretty random I thought.
