i had a 200 dollar gaming keyboard and a concrete wall have an unexpected and very fast meeting one night after id stayed up all night levelling a character in an RPG only to have my power go out.
$150 UPS and you have like 30 mins of game time after the power goes out....worth the investment....trust me.
yeah, i gave up playing after that. just toooooo much stress.

I was playing Soul Calibur 2 on the hardest difficulty.

It was the most frustrating thing I have ever done, it was mostly okay until I fought ivy. Did not matter what I did, she could hit me, do tons of damage...it was like being stun locked. >.> Eventually I got fed up and shattered my Wavebird on the TV.

I had other controllers. But that was the turning point for me. I haven't played a fighting game since <.< they all tend to be that way vs AI.
Did you throw the controller into the TV? If yes, did the TV break as well, because I don't see how a TV could survive that. If it did, it is the strongest TV I ever heard of.

I don't do much. I curse and I do shout out the classic trope "the computer is a cheating bastard":

I do have a friend that does get angry enough he throws controllers, usually down on the ground. He sort of broke one of his 360 controllers that way.

I broke a 360 controller. After 45 minutes trying to get the 'jump of cliff and stabby-time' achievement for HALO Reach I threw it down in anger to go and get a drink and a cookie but (I play sitting on my bed) I didn't realise that the bar at the end of my bed was there. I threw the controller right onto it and the left analog and D-Pad stopped working properly...
Ah, that achievement. It took me several hundred or so tries to get it. As far I can tell, it is one of those achievements that the game doesn't tell you that there has to be precise things happening when you do the action:

Like:

Before you jump, the wind has to be blowing from the west, and the Grunt standing next to the Elite you are about to jump on, has to be picking his nose, while the other two Grunts are taking a whiz behind the burned out truck.

It must have been that complicated a condition, because I counted how many times I succeeded in assassinating the Elite mid jump so that I didn't die from the fall, as the achievement wants, and I did it properly, without dying, 30 times before it gave me the achievement. I even tested the jump/fall position that I completed those with, and if I had hit the ground I would have died.

The game was just anally picky.

Ill be honest. One day i was unloading cans of r*pe in MW2 (before mods, after care package glitch) i was on kill 24, lining up 25 (for nuke cause everyone hides from choppergunner) and the modem just turns off on its own. Think office space meets modem. Thats all i am gonna say.

I was playing MW2 once and one of my team mates kept getting annoyed at dying all the time, but not speaking just grunting or whining at death, and we kept saying to stick with the other team members, until i said "if you cant play the goddam game just go do something else and stop being useless" at that point i heard someone crying at the other end...

i did appologise and it was theyre first time playing online but i wasnt expecting tears, more nerd rage of kid swearing at me for being a "n00b" yet i was on most kills/least deaths

ahwel we all live and learn

I try to keep relatively calm when something distressing/frustrating happens in a game. I never break anything, or hurt anyone. But it puts me in massive rage for an hour or two afterwards, during which I'm more easily provoked than the Hulk on adrenaline shots.

I was playing Fallout New Vegas the other week when I accidentally overwrote my best character's file. Fortunately, I'm not a moron so I keep a back up, but even that one was about three days and countless in-game activities ago. It stressed me very much, but I managed not to destroy anything or hit the guy I was with.

Hehe, why thank you =) I came across someone else who had the same one I did (the Doctor with 3D glasses) and I decided that it was time for a change. I did have a bit of outside inspiration ;)

On Fallout 3, I spent 20 minutes working out how to kill Colin Moriarty without anyone seeing, someone did and then I killed everyone in the town. I only had one save file :(

I believe I threw my controller in rage while playing Demon's Souls and broke the analog stick. So I had to buy a new damn controller since I couldn't fix it.

I raged so hard that I left the game and murdered someone in real life. Just kidding.

I hit my desk, which is sturdy, though I've gone past that in the last few months. My Tv and PC cost way to much to even glare at them with disdain. It's mostly telling the game to eff off very loudly, or other curses.

I must be honest, the only real emotion I feel whilst playing games is happiness. Even when something would frustrate me I just laugh it all off and smile. If I find that I just can't do something, I'll turn the game off and do something else.

I vaguely recall throwing something game related across the room, not sure if it was a controller or a handheld device (I think it was a GBA) but it wasn't enough to ruin it. It still worked.

Do you want to stick to the PPP? You could do Ron holding the pipe bomb? Or maybe naked Dumbledore emblazoned with "NAKED TIME!"

Yup, I was trying to level up a low level character in Disgaea 2. I got a strong monster down to 10 HP and figured that even if that char only did 1 HP she could still kill it eventually. Melee attack, 0 damage. Magic attack, 0 damage. So I raged and had my strongest dude do his strongest attack as revenge, and forgot I could of did a team attack and given her XP that way. I then refought the entire battle to giver her more XP that way.

I rage, but I don't break anything. I'm not going to break my own stuff, that's crazy, I'm going to go punch my brother in the face instead.
That's what family for!
