And before you ask, I did search...and all I found was a topic back from December. Which didn't relate.

OT: I did lose my remaining faith in humanity very recently. I was debating if I should go on homebound, my school's version of home schooling, cause I was having problems at home and school and was losing my temper and cool quicker than I ever had. When I broached the subject with my counselor, she recommended that I not do it, cause it would only harm my record. Apparently my school has to list why a student goes on homebound, and the reason I was going to list would raise a red flag. So, I stayed in school, but I wish I hadn't. It got out that I wanted to go on homebound and the rumor mole begin.

The rumors went from I was pregnant and my bf wasn't the father to I was a lesbian and my lover had broke up with me in front of the entire junior class at an assembly. I fished my way through the rumors and found out about one that near about killed me. One of the rumors was that my bf was secretly having an affair with my ex. I knew that this rumor wasn't complete bs, cause my ex had been acting jumpy around me lately. So, I went digging a little further. Found out that my bf had been up with my ex and that they had been seen going into a hotel room together...well, I went berserk. Then I had my friend Tyler walk up to me and tell me that he was sorry. My worst fear was that he was going to fess up to starting the rumor, cause Tyler is like a brother to me, come to find out that he was gay and it was HIM that went into the hotel room with my ex.

I lost my faith in humanity that day, cause they turned something innocent into something false and hurtful...I also tracked the rumor back to my cousin's bf...let's just say that they aren't dating anymore.

Well, I don't have a big story like you, but I lost my faith in humanity a looong time ago.
Probably because I usually see the worst in people.

I still believe that there are a few valuable persons in the human race that give it enough merit to make up for all of the completely batshit insane and massively stupid people.

And yes, I did mean to put persons instead of people.

The thing is, I don't lose my faith in humanity because I try to see the good in it. Yeah, there will be the jack@$$es that will do cruel things, but it's highschool, life usually sucks there. I found that if I could at least find a friend or two to help me through the tough times, it becomes a lot better. Don't lose faith yet, there are a lot of good people in the world. ^_^

Thats why I'm homeschooled. If I had stayed in regular school, I would have killed myself. Everyday I was beaten up and humiliated in class. I went 2 years without a single friend. Thank whatever deity for homeschool. I soon met friends and have regained my faith in the human race.

I was betrayed by my entire elementary class. They said I was going to bring a gun and got me kicked out of school. None of it was true. Never liked people since. Middle School was neutral. I had a relatively good high school till my friends abandoned.
Now I only have one friend at the moment, but then again he's one of the best friends I ever had.
+I'm a horrible boyfriend. Ruined 2 of my loves.
Point being between mine and everyone's actions prompt me to say I lost faith in humanity, but I'm willing to give the benefit of a doubt.

Never had any faith at all, sure there might be some good people but it seems the bad far outweighs the good and therefore ruins it. I'm not surprised about anything on the news anymore because I've realized how disgusting people can be.

I lost all faith in humanity a long time ago, so long ago that I don't care to remember. The losing of my faith has caused me to recently question why there is such a high value on human life, if a few hundred people I don't know die, why should I care? There's plenty more where that came from I always think when I hear about disasters on the news involving massive loss of human life.

I stuck it out, I even went out of my way to smooth things over for my friend when he decided to come out and tell everyone...I felt horrible for accusing my ex for something he didn't do...

Wow Op you have it tough. i may complain of how hard my school is to my parents and such, but I'm glad that everyone in my school is quite intelligent and they don't spread rumors and lies.

I don't have faith in humanity in general, just people that I know and people who actually think.

I don't think I'm actually capable of losing my faith in humanity. I can't group every individual of our species into one generalization, and therefore can't think badly of the species as a whole. Quite honestly, I'm just an optimist and tend to focus on the good things that humanity has done, rather than the stupid things that have happened and do happen frequently.

In the amount of time humanity has been around, think of all the magnificent things we've done. We've been to the moon, we've created technology that was once beyond the wildest machinations of the human mind, as well as making huge leaps in other areas of science and literature and a general understanding of the world around us. I can't simply throw away my faith in our species based on my sixteen years of life and some bad high school experiences.

The way I look at it, if Anne Frank could maintain her faith in humanity, the least I can do is do the same. Or, to phrase it in a way Kamina would approve of, "Don't believe in humanity. Believe in the Anne Frank who believed in humanity."

So no. No, I haven't lost faith in humanity. Never will.
